Don't get excited. We won't do anything in FA.

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I'm like some of yall who looks through your phones and laptop every second to check if the Bobcats are doing anything in FA. This is how I see it. The Charlotte Bobcats won't be doing anything in FA. If we are lucky, we may be able to lure Antawn Jamison here but with the recent news of LA looking at him also, more than likely he may wanna go there for a championship.

Even though we have some cap space to work with this year, we're not going to go hard after anyone bc Cho and MJ knows this is a rebuilding team. And the best way to rebuild is to tank it again next season so we can go after our weakest position on the team right now, a Center in the 2013 draft. I know Cho and MJ has to be doing their homework already, looking at Noel and Zeller for next year draft. We will definitely be drafting in the top 4, no less than that. Adding a big man like a Noel or Zeller, it will help solidify our roster squad where we can then go and add a bigger name or trade for one through FA 2013.

We have already made exciting moves in trading for SG Ben Gordon, drafting SF Michael Kidd Gilchrist, and SF Jeff Taylor. That will more than likely concludes our offseason, and it will then be a boring Free Agency period for us now.

By this logic, if we keep our winning percentage in the .100s consistently enough eventually we'll win a championship...

I love 'Twan man but the bobcats are probably the only team he can play for now and get more than 10 mins a game.

Will be a cool homecoming story next year though. Maybe can teach the younger guys a thing or two. Still one of the back to the basket players I've ever seen. His final year at Carolina, he averaged only touching the ball like less than 3 mins a game or something crazy like that.

Personally I dont mind us being quiet. Save the cap space and dont get any stupid long term contracts. Get a good pick next year and possibly have two others with the portland and detroit pics and have plenty of room to make a splash next year if we can get some quality players to come here. If we cant get quality to come hopefully our young guys develop enough to earn a pay day from us!

If not us this year, I see Jamison signing a 1yr deal to a team who can contend next year.

Jamison could help our roster right now win a few more games that I'm scare we may be out of the top 4 lottery pick next year. So IMO, I'd rather play it out this coming up season with our young guys, draft Noel/Zeller, sign/trade for a big name player, and then sign Jamison next year if he wants to end his career in NC. Good for both side.

Yup, and then sign Jamison next year if he wants to end it here. Bc if we dnt sign him this year, the rumor of Jamison coming here will start up again next offseason. Unless he retire after this coming season.

No. Means tanking it, getting the chance to draft a big man in Noel or Zeller then use that big cap space to add a star. That should help us be able to contend in the playoffs when we do make It. Especially when our young guys right now will have more experience by then.

Im surprised more teams arent going after DJ. I dont think hes top notch, but seems like some of these contenders would be going after him. Havent heard a bit of news about DJ except that we tendered him.

We're not going to hear anything on him till once the trade deadline comes, then teams are going to start calling Cho.

Nah, I never check. No draft night trades = me stopped caring. Basically.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
