Regarless, he has been clocked at 4.32 before.

Either way, he's not really needed on the Panthers. I just brought the topic up as it was different from all the other garbage that people have been starting.

Like "Did Steve Smith waste his time here"

And times that aren't official mean nothing. Even pro day times are often notorious for being too favorable compared to combine times.

And why so defensive?? It isn't personal here, I just don't see the big deal that is all.

Nowhere did I even imply that his pro day time doesn't mean anything, I was simply pointing out that Gordon has been clocked in the 4.3's before; that I didn't just make that up.

I get tired of hearing about all these guys who supposedly run a 4.2 or 4.3 only to find out when it comes down to it their times aren't close. You would think that with nothing else to focus on and everything riding on it, his time would have been awesome if he was capable of it.

This.

I'm a huge UNC fan, but we're notorious for it. You can usually safely add .15-.20 to the 40 time of any Tar Heel when it comes NFL Combine time.

Once again, Gordon was out of action for over a year, to think that he would run his best time is just setting yourself up to be let down.

Gordon was able to hit the 4.4 mark at his pro day though.

Exactly. We're talking about a kid here who has less than 800 career receiving yards in college football and has sat out for an entire year.

Why?

A.J. Green had 2,619 career rec yards.

Gordon had 721 career rec yards.

Comparing one full year of college to how many?

That's an easy way to skew numbers.

I'm not saying Gordon will be A.J. Green or even close to A.J. Green for that matter. cause he wont.

But a lot of you are underestimating Gordon. Sure he has off the field issues but aside from that he is very talented, good measurable's/physicals, and good potential.

If you look at what the experts and scouts have to say on Gordon, you would realize that a fourth round pick would be a good grade for Gordon, anything less would be an insult.

That's the point...Gordon has done nothing. He had one decent year. Noone knows if it was a fluke or what you'll get. BTW you brought AJ into the conversation. Bad comparison, because AJ actually had a college career.

Once again, people would take Jenkins (who has way more baggage) in the 2nd but no take Gordon (who was ranked higher at Baylor than 2nd round pick Kendall Wright) until the 5th...

That makes sense...

Preach it.

If you are sitting on an extra pick and need WR talent....teams will gamble on talent. 4th round picks don't generally land you guys with his potential

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
