What is really stupid is when the options are:

For English Press 1.

For Spanish Press 2 (spoken in English).

I also really liked to mess with this one incompetent checkout lady at Kroger when I was in college and buying beer right before 2 am. I would always choose Spanish over English for self-checkout and argue in Spanish with her when she asked for my ID. I was over 21, but she was always so frustrating (and I was usually drunk, so it amused me).

You know the funny poo is that on most ATM machines in my area, there's English and Spanish selections together. You either read one or the other. It's neat man.

truth is, she is probably a bible beating, back woods baptist who has a GED. the entire world caters to America, trying to speak English, yet we scoff at an immigrant who can't learn every correct usage of it. and the ironic thing is that old lady probably can't even distinguish a verb from an adjective. that said, we just have to train ourselves to let it go.

The intolerance in this country is embarrassing. We were founded by brave people looking for a better life. We are intolerant of that today.

By the way...go to most major countries and most people speak at least 2 languages...except "native Americans."

I can't imagine how hard it must be to move to another country looking for a better life. None of us would do it
