Too soon to ask for vacation?

I wouldn't but who cares what I would do.

I have always figured that if a manager/company/boss sees that the company runs just as good without me as it does with me, I won't have a job when I get back.

If you stay gone too long, this could be the case.

People do this more often than most think. I know I was shocked to realize it happens.

if not, it depends really. If my slack ass workers want a vacation I'd ask them "A vacation from what?" however if my hardest working employee said they needed one, I'd have no problem with it. If your quality of work does not warrant anything, I would wait until it does. Prove yourself first and get leverage or at least consideration, like I said in my eyes hard working, good employees need the vacation while some poeple act like work is their vacation/social outlet from their lives and if they went, they woulnd't come back.
