Remaining Roster battles

Rivera stated theirs about 12 position battles still going on, said its going to be down to those who were the most consistent from mini camp to now. Also stated that the tie breaker in kicking battles was youth.

WR'S

Jared Green

Lamont Bryant

Armanti Edwards

Tutu

probably the most interesting battle left. I don't think I'd really miss any of these guys and would be in favor of cutting them all if other good cuts become available. Odds are we'll keep 1-2 of them, unless someone else we like gets cut.

RB'S

Tauren Poole

Armond Smith

One is likely to go, I'll reserve my opinion until after the 4th game on them on which one.

TE'S

Joe Jon Finley

Ben Harstock

Nelson Rosario

Richie Brockel

Probably 3 of them have to go. Likely going to come down to Brockel and Hartstock. I'd give the slight edge to Brockel since Harstock is 32.

O-line

Matt Reynolds(t)

Zack Williams(OL)

Jeff Byers©

Bryant Browning(G)

Justin Wells(G)

Gary Williams(G)

Gotta think Williams is safe here. Personally I have not watched the o-line in depth after the first string comes out so I have no idea about the rest.

CB's

Butler

Josh Thomas

R.J Stanford

Plausible all 3 could make it at the end of the day. I do think Stanford has look improved some this year vs the 2 past in the limited action he's been in.

Safeties

Jordan Pugh

Jonathan Nelson

D.J Campbell

Don't remember seeing Campbell much so far. Pugh pissed me off so many times last year,so I have no problem parting with him

DE'S

Ryan Van Bergen

Practice squad?

DT's

Nate Chandler

Ogemdi Nwagbuo

Chandler is def. my prefrence between the 2 if either make it.

LB

Kenny Onatolu

David Nixon

Jason Williams

Kion Wilson

Had high hopes for Onatolu as a special team ace, don't recall seeing him do a damn thing yet thus far. Williams is probably the safest amongst these guys.

So since Neblett does not count against the roster, at least 21 of these guys will be gone and maybe more if we pick up someone from another teams cuts.

If it were up to me(glad its not) these 21 would go

1..Green

2.Bryant

3.Edwards

4.Zach Williams

5.Bryant Browning

6.Finley

7.Rosario

8.Hartstock

9.Wells

10.Browning

11.Byers

12.Pugh

13.Campbell

14.Josh Thomas

15.Van Bergen

16.Nwagbuo

17.Onatulu

18.Wilson

19.Armond Smith

20.Nixon

21.Chandler

Gary Barnidge is not a lock. He can't block worth a poo and we already have guys that can handle the ball with more talent. Harstock is not the sexy guy but he serves a purpose. Brockel might make it because he's versatile. We don't know how many guys they want to keep but last year they kept Shockey, Brockel, Hartstock, and Olsen. We lose Shockey and bring in Tolbert so there is three guys fighting for two spots if we keep the same numbers.

And Shockey could? Brockel is small and slow, he is more a FB than a TE. He'll be cut imo.

Barnridge has had a few nice catches and a TD, compared to Hartock's ONE.

After watching tonights game heres my revised edition of that and this time I'll only be cut browning once! This is also in order of who I want gone. Also I think Onatulu is headed for P.U.P so only doing 20 this time.

Have to go

1.Rosario

2.Wells

    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
