Something Huge Hit Jupiter Today

Slooh is running a live cam in the Canary Islands to check for if the impact left a scar of the sorts. http://events.slooh.com/

Really cool an Amateur Astronomer got the footage, and on an LX200 12"! Must have been a massive collision.

Anyone else an AA? I have a Meade LX800 that I used to run lapses on Saturn and The Orion Nebula through my laptop on crystal clear winter nights. Light pollution from downtown has made that less exciting, but I will go up to the mountains once every couple months and do that now.

Got a cousin in Charlotte who, not sure if he still is, was the main dude for Meck County Astronomers. Dude travels the world just for eclipses and showers etc.

For CAAC? Every time they meet I always have something I need to do. If he was out there for the Mercury transit (can't remember the park name, but it was off central), I did finally get to meet all of them though - including the head guy.

He had some insane gear. He might have even had a Max (http://www.meade.com/max).

sounds like him. he lives right near me but i rarely see him. ran into him at the HT Park road. He was walking in as I was walking out and we got to gabbing.

Of course he ends up talking about space. He goes pstall, the sun has been quiet. Get ready and walks off. umm...wait. what do you mean? lol

    • I'd give Bryce until the trade deadline to prove he's the answer and if he's not I'm dumping him for whatever pick we can get and I'm riding with Dalton the rest of the way.  2 and a half years is enough time to determine if he can be the QB going forward so for Bryce he needs to come out over the next couple of weeks and show that. The other players in the locker room don't wanna waste another year of their careers waiting to see if you'll ever figure it out.  If you took a poll of the players in the locker room I'm sure they'd rather lose with a respected veteran Dalton who at least gives them some creditability versus losing with Bryce who the entire media will say was let down by his supporting cast when in reality it's Bryce's physical limitations that are holding this team back.
    • I agree that he should’ve never been the pick at 1. In my 44 years I’ve never seen a team invest that much in a QB who is my size. I’m not meant for the NFL and neither is he.    Accepting we can’t change the past, I think it’s the correct call to keep playing him hoping that he will prove us wrong. I think we were dumb not to draft a QB this past year and let him learn and compete but that’s our reality.    I’m hoping this is the last year with the BY experiment and he deliverers us 1. To the playoffs or 2. The number one pick and we draft a real QB.
    • In his first interview after the surgery he sounded absolutely miserable.  Man that must beat you down to have that done
