Final: Panthers 41, Giants 9

Let me say 1st that when I started my day it was ugly hearing "Panthers suck" and that I suck as well all day....I'm glad my dad finally told my mom to shut up anyway I survived the day and now I'm over the game from last night and then I remembered a game from a couple of years ago read below.

We destroyed the Giants 41-9 and look at them now. This is the NFL we will get our ass kicked sometimes, it happens...I didnt see the Giants fire the head coach, bench the QB and sell the team. I'm pissed at what happened but c'mon folks.

For a brief moment Sunday afternoon, it looked as if the Giants had the upper hand in the game against the Carolina Panthers and a promising shot at a playoff spot.

It came in the middle of the first quarter when quarterback Eli Manning found wide receiver Steve Smith in the end zone for what looked like a touchdown on a 26-yard passing play on the Giants’ first drive. But the play was nullified by a holding penalty against fullback Madison Hedgecock.

Three plays later, the drive was nullified when wide receiver Mario Manningham fumbled on the Carolina 14-yard line and it was recovered by the Panthers. And everything unraveled from there in the Giants’ final regular-season home game in their current Giants Stadium.

The Panthers took the ball and drove down field for a field goal and went on to a 41-9 victory that left the Giants on the brink of elimination.

my point of posting this means this is not the end of the world it wasn't for the Giants we will continue on and we will win again!!

since then the giants have added another lombardi trophy to their case and the panthers have managed to win 10 games out of 36 but yeah, you're right, everything is fine, carry on with business as usual, no need to change anything

no one is saying this.

they're not just freaking out and acting like its all over.

There's a point...and you missed it.

i got the point. you missed mine

I understand what you were trying to say. The point of the OP though, was what the Giants managed to do after such a humiliating loss. Something that you already listed in your response. That isn't to say that we are on the same track, or that the OP expects us to follow in those footsteps, but that one loss doesn't define a team. Sure you can look at what we've done leading up to this point, as 200 threads over the last 24 hours already have, or you can look forward, which was the point of the thread. That doesn't mean that we are expected to carry forward toward success without any changes, just that it's possible and that this loss doesn't mean that we are doomed to suck for years to come.

Yea during that time span, the Giants probably won 2 Super Bowls. That's probably why no coach were fired and fans werent whining .

HAHAHA it would be so fun if you actually watched the game and knew what you were talking about.

Coughlin was one of the most questioned/hot seat coaches the past couple of seasons, even after he won them a superbowl.

The NY fans are some of the harshest, most critical fans in sports.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
