Final: Panthers 41, Giants 9

since then the giants have added another lombardi trophy to their case and the panthers have managed to win 10 games out of 36 but yeah, you're right, everything is fine, carry on with business as usual, no need to change anything

Amazing what can happen if you don't fire the coach, bench the starting QB, & fire the whole defense after a bad game...

Sorry, but I don't buy that this was similar to that win over the Giants. They were coming off 4 straight playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl title in 07. They had a history of success.

But guess what happened anyway, about 1 month after that game. They fired defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan. He had been in his job exactly 1 year.

So here is a successful franchise, that ended up that year on a sour note to go 8 and 8, and they moved quickly to make the changes needed to correct the problems.

We have now played very poorly in 3 of our last 4 games, including 2 embarrassments, both after big wins. I am not saying heads should roll now, but if I were JR, I would certainly be making those on staff a bit uncomfortable, and let them know that I expected to see significant improvement by the end of the year.

Coughlin was one of the most questioned/hot seat coaches the past couple of seasons, even after he won them a superbowl.

The NY fans are some of the harshest, most critical fans in sports.

That is precisely the point. NY fans question poor performance every season, no manager is resting on their laurels in the Tri-State area for any of those teams.

Accepting mediocrity and turning a blind eye to the obvious problem with this team seems to be some type of loyalty test for many of our "fans".

Rest assured this would not be an issue for any of the better run teams in the NFL. Hurney would already be long gone by now. That was the point of the article today and seems lost on many here.

As long as JR thinks he can get away with keeping incompetent friends on the payroll he will. Till the fan base starts demanding a better product, get used to riding the roller coaster of mediocrity.
