Ok I should have explained this a bit further. This thread is a response to all the I hate the coaches threads. The coaches called a great game and put this team in a position to win. Its up to the players to execute and not make mistakes. Rivera and company have been preaching ball security. Cam did not practice that philosophy on that play. He cannot be that careless with the ball. His mistake, led to a panthers loss.

I don't agree. He might have failed to clinch the victory on that play but he didn't lose it. There's a difference. Every QB in this league will depend on their defense to pull out a win.

He didn't get the first down. That's what happened. The fumble was dangerous, but it's the same outcome as being stuffed for no gain. The offense failed to get two first downs and the defense failed to stop them from gaining 70 yards.

This is football. A game is never won on a single play.
