Where Is Gettis?

How many seasons will he be injured, and then just vanish? We could really use his height and straight line speed.

He's on the PUP.

A player who finishes the preseason still on the PUP must sit out six weeks. After that the team has a 3 week window in which to allow the player to being practicing. From the day the player begins practicing there is an additional 3 week window in which to allow the player to join the 53 man roster.

If either of those deadlines pass he'll have to stay on the PUP for the rest of the year.

(I think)

we'll probably hear one way or the other in the next week.

not sure who he would replace on the roster. i can't imagine them going with more WRs than we have just based on usage this past week. it appeared we only really had one with the way cam kept focusing on smitty the whole game.

Well they do have a few weeks to decide what to do with him once he's practicing. Will give them some time to see if he's recovered properly or not.

They can always let him come out and if he's not recovered enough to take over someone's roster spot either cut him or let him go back on the list for the rest of the season.

My guess is they don't let him practice until next week to maximize that three week window and he doesn't come out gangbusters owning people they let him practice with no decision for a bit.

I don't even consider him a part of the team at this point. I'm tired of waiting for him. I'll like him again once he actually gets on the field and makes plays. If he comes back and sits on the bench I could care less. He's basically just the same as Tutu at that point.

Even if he does come back to the team he won't have any connection with Cam.

    • I am blown away at how bad we have been with the picks we've made. For all the hand wringing about "getting worked" in trade ups, etc. is small fries in comparison to the absolute trash picks we've made. Hit on even half of the picks and this team is 8-8 or better. Just like in most industries the "fun" parts of the job are always overrun with incompetents (due to favortism and politics) when you have a bad leader. Look at Dallas. Jerry wants so bad to be involved in talent acquisitions that the team eternally sucks. Same for us.
    • I honestly think the huddle would run this organization better. We would draft better for sure. How is that possible when these guys devote their careers to it?
    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
