Of course they were talking about our matchup vs the Cowboys and which team needs the win more.

Trey Wingo said that everyone likes to focus on Cam and blame him, but the other side of the ball is just as much to blame.

Then Tedy Bruschi agreed with Wingo saying it's definitely not all Cam's problems. He said we have all sorts of fundamental problems on defense, and then he brought up tackling and said we we're the worst tackling team in all of the NFL. He also said it's a major problem with Rivera being a former LB, and him saying tackling was our "Nemesis".

Bruschi and Schlereth both took the Cowboys to win -- no surpise.

Yeah, it's pretty bad when your defensive head coach says your biggest nemesis is "tackling". This is football we are talking about. That's like a basketball player's biggest nemesis being "dribbling". Or a soccer player's biggest nemesis being "kicking the ball". Or a cyclists biggest nemesis being "not sure which butt cheek to inject the steriods".

Tackling is almost entirely all desire. You have to want to tackle. Maybe that is what Rivera is yelling at them over? Be tougher, tackle better, and just maybe cut down the stupid mistakes.

Tackling is almost entirely all desire. You have to want to tackle. Maybe that is what Rivera is yelling at them over? Be tougher, tackle better, and just maybe cut down the stupid mistakes.

This is what is so frustrating, especially for fans.

You can only stomach so many one-armed flails before you realize that this is exactly the problem - lack of desire, lack of want-to.

There is no excuse for how bad we are at tackling. Regardless of the CBA, these guys have been tackling their whole lives. Their approach to it just screams, "I'm gonna try guys, but if I don't get 'em, oh well!"

there is nothing good to say about the panthers this week. Only the panthers can change that.

dal-ass is a media darling. They are one of the if not the biggest "star" in the league. It's all based on money and these guys make it hand over fist for the league. The panthers are perpetual mediocrity and the only thing positive about the Panthers having to face the Cowboys is if the Panthers could beat the cowboys. And even if they do. Next week will be about the cowboys and who gets a shot at them that week.

Which further explains the general poor tackleing that is going on leuge wide....

Defese is a lost art...

Sad thing is with all the attention and hysteria that concussion data has caused, lack of tackling in practice can easily begin to trickle down to college and High school. Enough parents yell loud enough and school boards will start cutting down practice times. Tackling sleds are a helpful tool but they don't juke or spin.

IMO, most NFL players were good enough in college to get away with those big hits that took the ball carrier down. They never had to learn to tackle properly. I know not every player goes for the hit, and actually tries to tackle. But you see a lot of hits that do not get the runner down. Or the one arm whiff which is just as bad.

Tackling and mistakes are killing us. Fix these two major flaws and we can be competitive. Well... that, and kick Chud in the nuts.

      What has happened in HS athletics busted full force into the college world with this NIL/transfer portal stuff. HS sports has been jacked up for a long time now. You have all these "prep schools" that are basically just diploma mills for athletes who hoover up all the good athletes they can get and they're all on scholarship. Then they go out and recruit decent athletes with rich parents to come onboard and pay outrageous tuition while they tout their success at getting their athletes college scholarships. Yeah, those athletes getting college scholarships are the same ones you're giving scholarships to so that you can use them to recruit the rich kids whose parents can pay for it all. You see the same thing in youth travel ball leagues. The whole thing is just getting crazy.

Fowler isn't exactly a nobody, everybody knows McAfee, and you also have some locals that follow the team (including Dean Jones). Of course you have a right to believe that Tepper hasn't really changed, but to say there is no evidence that he just may be changing is not really true. It's just not. Hate the guy, but the way that he has handled this current regime is different than he handled previous teams, and his silence in the war room and publicly in general is different than years back.
