Yet another opinion on the Panthers woes

PFF seems to agree

It never helps your offensive productivity when four of your offensive linemen grade below-1.0. Such was the case for the Panthers. Their reshuffled offensive line wasn’t gelling, and it hindered the offense’s efficiency. The four penalties committed by the line put the Panthers in some longer down-and-distances, really limiting Carolina’s play-calling options.

And so do I, the pressure given up the middle by Hangman, Bell, Amini was terrible, and Garry was thrashed as well.

There really isn't any one thing to blame IMO. Sometimes Cam tries to do too much and hold the ball too long, sometimes the WR are not getting open, sometimes the O-Line has not given him enough time, sometimes Cam makes a bad decision, sometimes Cam misses his mark on a pass, some times it is a WR drop, sometimes it is questionable playcalling, sometimes it is simply players not executing the play or getting beat, sometimes it is the defense not holding leads, sometimes it is costly preventable penalties like false starts, sometimes its....

I mean it is all these things. I think it is foolish to try and lay the blame on one entity or the other, whether it is the QB, the WRs, the O-line, the RBs, the defense, or the coaching. The answer is YES. It is all their faults.

But we are also SO CLOSE which makes these 1-5 starts hurt so much worse. We are on the brink of being really good but as Cam said we just find new ways to lose. Some of them our fault, some it is plain bad luck. But that is why it is frustrating because you would think the ball would bounce our way eventually and it just hasn't.

Well our OL is....

Gross, rookie, backup C, Undrafted 2nd year player, Undrafted backup RT.

And a lot is asked of the OL just like Cam.

It all goes back to coaching and coaching asking too much of players. I mean they could work on some power runs and use our Gs in clear roles....Bell and Amini can run block.

How quickly things can turn is staggering. NFL is what have you done for me lately is the truest statement ever said!

A couple months ago aftter a record breaking rookie season we were Rah superbowl, HOF QB...no its bench cut fire, Cam worts ever blah blah blah

The mood swings are worse then my woman on PMS

just go along with the ride, this will only get worse until we win, winning cures everything.

people havent mentioned it but we ran the i formation a lot more than we have in the past couple of games. It looked horrible. Face it fellas we are a bad team with either aging players who used to be pro bowlers and inexperienced players that might not be any good.

We need help at the o-line

D-line

Secondary

WIDE RECEIVER

We ran some out of the I but did not seem to commit to it and that is the problem. We do not have an identity. We have so many chute plays we do not play hard nose smack them in the mouth football which wears defenses down.It promotes soft play from the line and no one gets into a rhythm.

    • These are the three deep throw attempts that Will Levis made in week 12. His first one is a beauty; Levis and Westbrook-Ikhine gets the safety to bite on a deep dig only to go over the top for the score. His second throw is another beauty: a crosser to Calvin Ridley reminiscent of Bryce to XL (though Ridley has noticeably more separation on his route). His third and final deep shot was an incompletion from his own endzone on 3rd & 14 with pressure coming down on him (to me, this seems like a solid throw).   Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-02.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Levis took half of the deep shots that Young did. The differences are: Ridley had much better separation than XL, which is why his deep crosser turned into a 63yd play since he was able to scamper for another 15+ after the catch. Westbrook-Ikhine holds on to his TD pass. Bryce had to throw one away to preserve time for a field goal. Bryce had two more throws that were incomplete due to the WR Are we really holding the three WR errors and clock management decision against Bryce in order to say that Will was better throwing deep in week 12? That's not passing the eye test nor is it confirmed by the data.
    • If you go on the PUP list before the season starts, you are gone for the year. If you start the year on the PUP list then you can get off of it. Kind of semantics, but we are putting him on the PUP list now which is before week 1, that’s why people who come off of it aren’t really on the PUP list until week 1, hence you usually hear right before the season that they are “starting the year” on the PUP list. I think PUP list and IR may basically be the serve the same purpose now because you also sometimes hear that if a player is added to the IR before week 1 that they aren’t eligible to come off the IR list for the entire year. Now, everyone added to IR (post week 1) can come off after 4 (or more) games so the PUP list is meaningless since it’s 6 games and starts at week 1. Anyone added to PUP or IR in the preseason is gone for the year.
    • I saw Brooks maybe a few weeks ago, he was walking pretty normally. of course he wasnt running, jumping and cutting.
