Ok this just dawned on me...

D-lo, probably.

Beason, will depend on how he bounces back and if he will willingly move outside. The middle belongs to Kuechly now. Also depends on if he can still play like he used to. He had a bad year this year.

Smith, possibly. He won't be flatly cut. Whenever Smith is no longer a Panther, it will be on Smith's terms. Bank on that.

Johnson, doubt it.

Gross, doubt it (unless he retires).

Gross is a turnstile. New GM will see this.

Alexander is better than Johnson, new GM sees this.

Smith is traded to Miami or Denver, bank on that. Hurney magic is not accepted round here no mo.

Yeah, I'm not saying my take on that little list in my last post is set in stone, just what I believe based on TYPICAL player evaluation and how those players have played, as well as their ages and contracts. At the very least, like JOAT said, a lot of restructuring will HAVE to take place to keep most, if not all of those guys. Somebody will have to be let go more than likely, and it seems (if we do go with the power running game with Stew as the featured back) that Williams is the odd-man-out and will be traded (which pains me, because I love me some D-Lo).

A voice of reason. Who'd a thunk it with the way this place has imploded this year. Glad someone has some sense.

There are plenty of guys who will be here in the future. You cannot gut a team when you have a Franchise QB. You have to tweak and build. Not raze and burn.

This is all speculation. Bank on that.

Frustration is a beautiful thing. For those of us who love the entertainment value associated with the emotion.

Gross is certainly on the down-slide of his career, I agree, but I don't think we are in a position to let him go before he retires.

Alexander may be better, but what can we get for Johnson that would make the trade worth it (not sure on the details of that contract, either).

What are you basing the Smith trade on? He's our one true veteran receiver and he's easily the most consistent in terms of getting open, even if he is dropping more balls than usual? Him staying around hasn't been Hurney magic. It's just been a matter of him being our best WR and that hasn't changed from what I can tell.

Man When you sit back and think, Hurney really George W Bushed this team by spending like a drunken sailor with nothing to show for it. D Will/J Stew massively underperforming, CJ disappointing, Beason IR, Gamble IR, Kalil IR. Sure the injuries arent Hurney's fault but be that as it may, the fact is we have tons and tons of money tied up in dead weight right now.

If I was the new GM the only players I would deem 100% safe off the bat would be Cam, Kuechly and maybe Kalil but only he proves he can play like his old self after his surgery. Gross is aging, Gamble is also aging and got hurt. Oh and Stewie I would keep also.

hey man not a problem with this post but i feel like if Dwill and Jstew were in a different offense they would be fine. put Dwill in houston and hes as good as Arian. jmo

I don't get the turnstile talk with Gross, maybe I'm not watching closely enough...

Overblown. I make it a point to watch Gross on at least one or two drives a game. The turnstile talk is due to Amini, really. Teams know he's weak, so they're blitzing his outside gap, causing Gross to pick a man to block.

EDIT: Gross has been playing worse than his usual self, this season though. I've seen guys blow right around him. I don't think he's so bad to warrant retirement talk JUST yet, but he may need to be moved to RT and letting a younger, more agile guy take on the pass-rush/Cam's backside duty.
