Brandon Hogan waived

As much as we are all pissed, this move and others like it are still necessary to get this team right. We must continue to flush out the guys who have hung around without producing anything. There's no point in keeping a bum just because of where Hurney drafted him, that's the old mindset we need to get rid of.

Hurney still screwing us from beyond the grave.

I dont know why people loves to blame Hurney for a lot of the draft picks. The GM and HC are both involve in the players they choose to take. GM draft the players that fits the HC's system.

Hogan was a Rivera player. Just like Fua, McClain etc. Players who Rivera thinks is a right fit for his team.

If Foxy was the coach this year, I guarantee you Hurney wouldn't never had taken Kuechly at no.9. Rivera in two short years had me looking at the draft in a totally new view. I used to be able to be close to guessing what position Foxy was going to draft each year. In the two short years with Rivera, I have been wrong every single round of the draft except for Cam (QB). I know a lot of people never wouldve guess that we was going to take a LB in the first and a G in the 2nd this year. (more like a DT and CB)

Only exception is I dno why Hurney keeps taking players and converting them into another position, (i.e., Godfrey CB to SS and Sherrod S to CB and back to S; shouldve taken Sean Smith).

Honestly I wouldn't put Norman or Alexander as solid just yet but they do have potential.

Alexanders motor alone should make him a great player down the road. Hopefully he and Hardy push each other to greatness(via competition).

Norman needs more work but I like what he could be, he tackles well and certainly looks the part.

Where they were pick and being rookie and at time where they're giving opportunity to play, Id say its close to being more solid than "average".

I don't consider anything but how well you play. Draft position doesn't matter, if you can ball you can ball.

But I feel you, they don't suck by any means.

Its about damn time! Other franchises seem to have a completely different outlook on their players. If you can't produce in the forseeable future, they cut their losses and move on...

If Gettis is not 100% AND productive by the end of the year, he should be released too. Some ppl act like its big news that his return will assure us a winning season. Im not hating on the guy, just being realistic... Gettis is not a Brandon Marshall or Hakeem Nicks, he's more of a Michael Crabtree type of contributor.

Marty would NEVER EVER admit he was wrong in the short term, even at the expense of the fans and franchise. Friends or not, I still dont understand how Richardson could allow this Marty's shortcomings to be accepted for so many years. Maybe im just an a$$hole but miss the playoffs 3 straight years and dat ass is fired!

As an owner, my loyalty is to the fans because they are who make it all possible! We deserve compentency in front office, not only to ensure we get value for our dollars spent but ALSO for our emotional investment as dedicated fans.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
