Table set for Cam...Redskins 32nd in NFL pass defense

Skins fan here and we actually look like we are getting worse on D. Too many injuries and bad coaching. We have no pass rush and the Secondary is literally full of all backups. All our corners are NIckles at best and our only 2 good safties havent played one game this year. Hall aged 30 years in the offseason. He cant run at all anymore. He looks like he hurts when he runs. Just laboring. Smitty could go for 200

Well, good news for Skins fans... your D-line gets to go against an O-line that doesn't open holes for the run game, or give cam more than 1.5 seconds to pass.

And don't worry about your secondary. We're probably starting Louis Murphy.

well during the last seconds of the Bears game, I was praying they made that kick. I felt that would be really deflating for you guys espically after the season youve already had. I feel like we will now be a good home team and put up alot of points.

The flip side is that despite the good home team & points thing, Im also starting to get worried that we just dont have the weapons on O with the injuries. Too slow & no differnce makers. Most of all I think your deflating loss could be offset by Cam wanting to show RG3 and the media how great he is.

I never think like this but it could literally be Cam vs RG3 trying to drag there teams over the finish line. Shanny has never talked like this but he called this game a must win so hopefully they will be amped

I try not to read stats before games like this because we have a way of making teams look way better than they are. However I can't help but to see the matchups and think that if there was a game this year for our O to get right this is it. There's not going to be a better matchup laid out for them.

Actually, Carolina's offensive line is ranked higher than Washington's according to NFL.com offensive line statistics.

Carolina is ranked 18th

Washington is ranked 19th

we have a stud in Trent Williams and then a bunch of backups at the other 4 spots. They are being saved because RG3 forces defenses to be less aggressive

I see alot of you keep talking bad about the O but didnt you guys just put 416 yards on a Bears D that has looked like the best in the NFL by far this year. Thats impressive

You'd have to watch us talk about them for a while longer to get the full picture. Almost noone doubts that we have talent and ability on the offensive side of the ball. But we also have terrible coaching at both the OC and HC spot that is negatively affecting both our QB directly and our offense as a whole. It's a wildly inconsistent side of the ball for us. Also the Bears game represented a departure from the "herp derp noone expects a THIRD READ OPTION ON THE SAME SET OF DOWNS" offense we'd been running all season. If they keep that up we will collectively feel a lot better about that side of the ball I'm sure. For now noone is holding their breath - it's simply not safe.

well if there are 2 teams prepared to stop the read option, it should be both of ours after seeing it so much in practice. Most likely the teams will have to use there base sets alot
