Why would you cut Beason because he is having trouble this year. I told all of you that he was going to struggle this year and that Achilles injuries are difficult to come back from. Anyone who thought he was going to be great this year just wasn't paying attention. However there is a good chance he can return next year and his leadership alone is worth a roster spot. There are guys I would get rid of but Beason isn't one of them.

Hardy is all-world on this board. Obviously football minds see him more as interior guy, but on here he can play OLB too. The 3-4 thing is getting worn out, we have a solid front 7 in the making now and people think we should continue to evolve in another direction?

Beasons injuries are no where near the same as TDs. While the option to restructure isn't a bad idea letting a top tier linebacker go because a couple bad breaks isn't a good idea. Your overwhelming desire to cut good talent because of a bad break is what makes teams turn into a decade long loser like Detroit. You are so convinced that Kuechly should remain at MLB that jettisoning our defensive leader is a good idea. Just for giggles who would you bring in as a Free Agent to replace the BEAST?

Kuechly replaced Beason and our defense has been very good the past few weeks.

Beason is too banged up, not producing to command a 50$ mil contract. Restructure or hit the road...

We are not going to get rid of Beason. If Beason was smart, he would plug in some tape of Derrick Brooks, and learn how to be a better outside linebacker than he ever was. Beason knows no one is going to pay him the same amount of money than what Caroina is paying him. If I was the new GM, I wouldn't touch Beason's contract (unless he isn't healthy), and I would let him earn every cent on the field.

Hit on the head here, it would cost us more to cut or trade Beason next year than to keep him. Send Beas this in an email, this is as good as it could get from here on out with Brooks comparison. Our front seven minus a playmaking DT is starting to look pretty damn good right now.

He has looked more than serviceable at MLB since the BEAST has been regulated to IR again. I guess to you a torn achillies is not a big deal, but hey the glass/half full theory is a great way to live. This year his shoulder was torn up and his knee was out of commission. Thats two seasons gone. Our defense has looked reallly good with Keuchly qaurterbacking it. I thought you read my post, but I could not find my overwhelming desire to jettison the BEAST anywhere. I said he needs to concede some things for the better of the team. I see the Hurney mentality of hanging on to players and coddling veterans was not hated by everyone.

Defense is starting to turn it around a bit. I would change it just yet. The problems with this team has been more about the offense then the defense.

If you were around long enough you would know I was all for jettisoning the vets back when Hurney did it. You have no clue as to why they shut him down. Maybe it was in the best interest of him and the team to allow him to recover from the hamstring and the shoulder. As your massive intelligence should know a hamstring can linger for a long time. Maybe hurting the shoulder was enough to convince him to shut it down for another season. And while you didn't come out directly and say it.... you implied it " If he will not make those two concessions, then maybe you think about making moves."
