Carolina now 10th in NFL total defense...can the offense ride its coattails for another win?

Good point...but I still like the number...

I know the Panthers have held their last 4 opponents to an average of 292 total yards per game

I wish someone with WAY too much time on their hands would figure how that ranks with other teams during the same stretch...

I could take the time to tell you how we fared the last 4 weeks but I can easily find where we rank over the last 3 games and that is 3rd in the NFL at 286.3 ypg

Behind Pitt at 207.3 and San Fran at 286.0

I like the company...

17th in PPG, which is what matters. Need to get into the top 15 in that stat - well on our way if we continue our recent defensive surge though.

I think even with PPG you have to look into that number... Some points given up are off of offensive turnovers... Some points are good points where the Defense started in scoring position but held the opponent to 3 on a short field.

Overall, the eye test tells me our defense has been much much improved over the last few weeks and are a legit unit in the NFL.

Not impressed by the D's PPG. They're not a San Fran, or Chicago, or even Atlanta yet that can go out there and win games on their own despite what their QB does. As long as these guys learn how to close out games and stop wetting the bed against any ole QB, Im happy.

To paraphrase what KT is saying, we were #5 in offense last year but anti-Cam guys said that the O couldn't close out games so it didn't matter. This year it is vice versa.

You welcome, but I am also a big supporter of Cam so you may not like my company too much. But I do think our defensive play the last several games is important and relevant.

The "company" I was refering to was Pitts and SF...

but I am sure you are a really nice guy.

I am a big supporter of whoever is the QB of the Panthers.

But if they play like sh*t, I will not hesitate to point it out...

I think after watching Jimmy Clausen two seasons ago I have a pretty good handle on what a QB playing like poo looks like. And Cam isn't playing like poo. He isn't setting the world on fire either though.
