Official Panthers/Broncos Tailgate Thread

This week John Fox and the Broncos come to town for a 1pm matchup. The Huddle continues its 9th season of putting on a donation tailgate with all proceeds going to Toys for Tots at the end of the year. Members of the Huddle have donated well over $20,000 and over 600 bikes to Toys for Tots over the years. Every single game over 8 seasons have been sponsored by posters and companies alike and this year is fully sponsored as well. Posters or companies sponsor all the food and non-alcoholic drinks and fans come and partake while leaving a donation in the bucket. 100% of all monies used to purchase bikes donated to Toys for Tots at stadium.

This weeks sponsor is poster Argus Plexus. Please thank him for his generosity because with sponsors it makes the whole day go easier.

The menu this week will be catered from Joel's Pizzeria 5668 International Dr. Suite A Charlotte, NC 28270. The food will be various NY style pizzas, several different kinds of pasta trays, garlic cheese bread, and 150 wings various styles as well as other sides. Please leave a good donation this is incredible food as much as you want delivered hot and fresh from his restaurant. He will go into work at 8am to prepare this food for us and deliver it hot out of the oven his restaurant is 10 minutes from downtown. You can't get food like this in the stadium period.

Here is the usual info, and any other questions about the tailgate please direct to this thread:

Where? WE HAVE A NEW LOCATION THIS YEAR DUE TO DEMOLITION OF THE OLD LOT. WE ARE LOCATED AT A LARGE LOT AT THE INTERSECTION OF TRYON, 3RD ST, AND CHURCH. WE WILL HAVE TENTS WITH A HUDDLE BANNER ON IT. Basically if you walk into the lot from Tryon St, you will run right into us.

What? Lots of good food and non-alcoholic drinks. BYOB if you want to drink your own booze. Tents for rain or for shade provided as well as chairs for people that need them.

When? We start at 8am Sunday. Get there early for the good food and to hang out with other Panthers fans like yourself.

Who? During the course of the day from 6am, usually 50-70 people pass through. You never know who will show up and opposing fans are certainly welcome. If you have no other place to tailgate and want to maximize the gameday experience this certainly kicks ass over just pulling your car up to the stadium an hour before and walking in. You'll get better food here than any heat lamped fries or pretzels you'll get in the stadium and have a good time tailgating no matter what the score is for the game.

Any other questions this is the thread to ask in.

Mix em a little stronger that day guys. Pop a few extra caps. Don't let the delicious grub and sweater scenery deter some serious noise for this game. If huddle-gates could have a theme (and I think they all should) this week should be NOT PEYTON PLACE with a strong emphasis to be uncharicteristically loud in "appreciation" for a HOFer who made it back ..er whatever.

Owner of restaurant is getting in early sunday at 8am to start making the food at his restaurant and delivering it personally at 11am to our tailgate spot. Last time he did this it was a huge hit most of the food was gone. It's a lot of variety and something for everyone unlimited.

Please don't just try to slink in with a few $1's and eat 3 plates of food. One pasta dish would be at his restaurant like $10 and this is several different ones, unlimited pizza, garlic bread, and wings plus other sides.

    • That's my biggest concern with making him the 2C.  You split up the Aho Jarvis bromance that accounted for a lot of points.  If Jarvis excels as a C, it could help the team even more though.
    • The Saints being that high is the one that killed me. Chris Olave might not know his name at this point, Shaheed is coming off injury as well, so 31 year old Brandin Cooks might be your best WR...coming off a 260 yard season over 10 games. Kamara is Kamara, but didn't have 1,000 yards last year and is about to turn 30.  Toss in the fact that Taysom Hill may be the best QB on the team and I truly don't understand Barnwell's thoughts beside seeing the names "Olave" and "Kamara" and going yep, that sounds better than "Chuba" and "Thielen".
    • Now now now, I wouldn't say there is no logic, but there's just not a lot of in-depth thought put into Barnwell's  "analysis." Now to be fair to him (and other national writers), pre-season team rankings are basically clickbait. And...Barnwell, himself, said that "there's a lot of projection here." He basically admits that he doesn't know how the hell things are going to turn out with our receiver group. He also said that "I find myself" more intrigued by Coker than Legette; that does not mean that he said that fans should be, or that Coker will even be better than Legette (regardless of ESPN's per-route-run stat). So, yeah, Barnwell said some things, but even he has to basically admit that he doesn't know how bad or good that our playmakers will be in 2025.  Overall, what Barnwell is basically thinking is that the Panthers have gotten worse at the offensive skill positions, and baked into that is that others have gotten better. That's the argument in July (meaning, please don't give this any more weight than it's due). I would personally be surprised (not shocked) if we end up worse than the Titans, Pats and Giants at least. Once you throw in the Bills, Giants, Jets, Steelers, and even the Chargers, I personally think there are several teams' skill groups that may end up ranked lower than ours by the end of 2025.  @kungfoodudeis one of my dudes, but like others he is over the tipping point. He's had enough. Seeing is believing. I will say this though: Barnwell's piece is less about logic than just good ol' opinion. And to be honest, he might as well be a Huddler throwing out sh¡t in the summer based upon nothing but good feels or bad feels.  Our offense as a whole (just like any other team's) is going to depend upon the play of the O-line and especially the QB. How you can even rank the skill positions without expressly baking those two things in the cake is beyond me. I would dare say that that's not even logical.
