Would a win tomorrow make everything right?

I certainly don't think a win today changes how this year has played out. It does however, give this team the opportunity to gain some much needed respect and confidence. Both of which are growing, but are still in a fragile state. Beating the horsey team would go a long way to making this team relevent again.

Whether finishing the year off strong helps Rivera keep his job or not is up for debate. But winning is the only way this team is going to take that next step. The future is still bright. Whether or not that future has already started, or is still on the horizon, will only be revealed when the season ends. By then, we should know pretty much what this team is made of.

Sadly, all Fox has done is proven the problem was with the Panthers, not him as a coach. He has his flaws, but he took a fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol QB'ed team to the playoffs last year, then won a playoff game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh with The Golden Calf of Bristol at QB. Looks like they're gonna make it back to back playoff seasons this year.

What have we done since getting rid of Fox? We're 8-16 in that time. He's 14-12 in that same time period, including 1-1 in the playoffs.

Meh, apples to oranges. Fox and us were overdue for a split. I'm happy for him having success in his career, but I'm glad he's gone.

I agree, but way too many Panthers fans simply chose to pin all the blame on Fox and pretend that he was the one and only factor holding us back. That obviously wasn't the case.

Even if we win out, Chud must go. I thought he was overrated last year and awful this year. He cannot be trusted.

As far as RR goes, as discussed before here, the waiting until halfway through the season to start playing reeks of Norv Turner. I'd just as soon let the new GM pick a new HC.

I'd say it depends on how we win, if its more barely scraping by in the 4th because we gave up a huge lead, then I don't know.. I know a win's a win but at this point in RR's head coaching career, it's going to be more about if we do win, how did it happen. If there appears to be progress on some fronts then I would say its definitely a step in the right direction and if it keeps up, then maybe he just might have a head coaching job next year.

It would be a great stepping stone in the right direction. Plus it can shut people up about us not beating a good team. Yes we beat the texans last year, but they were using their 3rd string QB.

No!!! I have a problem with a coach that has to be backed in a corner to coach. Coaching is his job, he should've been doing that from day one. He did a similar thing last year, we were 2-8 the 1st half of the season, the 2nd half we went 4-8. I don't want a HC thats playing catch-up the 1st half of every season, because he's changed or allowed the identity to be changed, only to realize that it's not working till the 2nd half of season.

If my team doubled our wins during the 2nd half of the season, common sense would tell me, at a minimum, to build on where we were, identity wise from the 2nd half.
