Something Cam Newton said had Broncos LB Von Miller all fired up

1:47PM EST November 10. 2012 - ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Even through the months of hype leading up to the 2011 draft, Von Miller never let himself think about what it would be like to go up against Cam Newton in a game.

Even through the 2011 season, when Newton and Miller emerged as legitimate stars, more than backing up their status as the top two picks in the draft, Miller wouldn't picture himself chasing down Newton for a sack.

Not sure Cam should be doing his Superman celebration anymore.....our defense put him on blast!

Annnnnd we all know who the REAL #1 pick in the draft should have been. Lucky for us Bronco fans you guys made the mistake of taking Cam over Miller.

Thanks for your input, troll.

We'll revisit that topic in 10 or 12 years. For a long time it looked like the Chargers fleeced the Giants in that Eli Manning trade, several years and 2 Super Bowl rings later, the Giants are looking pretty swell.

QB driven league.....Von Miller wouldn't of helped Jimmy Clausen win games. Not a mistake, team needs are different.

One game, Newton has had Carolina in every game of his 25 game career except for 4. Today was one of those 4.

Your D put our make shift OL on blast....and our OC. Cam was just a sitting duck for most of that.

But your version sounds cooler I guess....

Why would you need 12 years to decide if Newton was better than Miller? Clearly Miller has been better so far.

LOL

You're not very bright, are you?

Stop making Broncos fans look bad. By and large, they're a great fanbase. I went to all but two of their home games last year via free tickets from work.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
