There's No Crying in Football

Wow, really? I feel for you guys but crying?

The Carolina Panthers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday that was so crushing it reportedly moved one of the team’s players to tears.

According to Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer, Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis cried while talking about the team’s loss. “Thomas Davis brought tears in describing the Panthers’ latest loss,” Person tweeted.

It’s easy to see why Davis was so disappointed after the loss. The Panthers were up 21-10 with six minutes left and blew the lead. The defense allowed Tampa Bay to drive 80 yards in 50 seconds for a touchdown to make it 21-19 Panthers. Carolina also allowed to a two-point conversion to tie the game and send it to overtime, and then they allowed the Bucs to go 80 yards for a winning touchdown in overtime.

Davis, who had a team-high 16 tackles, was penalized 15 yards on a questionable unnecessary roughness call during the tying drive. He also forced a fumble on a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter.

At 2-8, there is no doubt many Panthers fans are crying along with Davis. At least he didn’t hold up the team bus with his crying.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
