Worth Buying an XBox360 on Black Friday?

What do you guys think? I've been a PS guy since day one. I have had friends with Xboxes and after years of playing PS, I just couldn't get around the controller, so I didn't ever give them a chance.

That being said, A LOT of my friends prefer the XBox over PS when it comes to competitive gaming, like in Madden or COD. I've also noticed a trend over the years for official/sanctioned tourneys to use XBoxes over PS, which was kind of telling to me.

I've contemplated getting one for awhile now, but when I've looked and saw them selling crap like the 4GB version, it turned me off all over again. That's a joke. How could they even seriously put that in a box and sell it? I digress...

Do you think it's worth it? Another thing I can't get around is the Live subscription, which apparently they have found ways to nickel and dime people with even more than they did before.

Well, I grew up with PS. I got an Xbox 360 to replace my PS2 back in 2005 shortly after they came out. Got the newer Xbox with the 250 gb hard drive back in 2010 for Christmas. I like it, but I still experience a ton of freezing in new games (LA Noire does it at least once each time I play). That's annoying. And as far as competitive gaming goes, it is better, but worse. From my own experiences, there are less annoying kids on PS3, making CoD gameplay better, to me, on PS3. However, Xbox has the better servers. You pay for Live, which sucks, but really, it's no different than paying for a new game. $50 covers Live for a year, and there aren't many games that I play for a year, but I still pay the $60 for them. So, it makes it worth it to me. Plus, I don't play Halo, and that's one of the very few Xbox exclusive games that people fawn over. I much prefer the PS3 exclusives.

You have upside and downside either way. They're both good products with their own things that set them apart. I'm looking for a change up and I like the PS3 exclusives and the idea of free online play, even if the servers aren't as good (they're known to go down for hours at a time for maintenance, from what I'm told).

I already have PS3, and intend to get a 360 bundle. I'll probably do online games that are on both consoles with the PS3 cuz its free. Then Halo, GOW, etc on the 360. Also, I'd like to get a kinect. I hear the wii and PS move just don't even come close to comparing to that, and I think my wife will really like it.

Also, I've had both xbox consoles before. I foolishly sold my 360 for a wii thinking my wife would play more with me. I then sold the wii cuz she wasn't playing, and the games sucked IMO. That's when I got the PS3. I chose it because of free online play and blueray. Point to this paragraph. I don't find switching controls to be a big deal. I actually like the 360 controller best, but have no problem using PS.

No idea what you're talking about with this. Live is still a flat fee. If you're referring to games charging for DLC, that has nothing to do with the actual XBL subscription.

In terms of Xbox live, there's a saying "you get what you pay for" so between PsN and live live is def better but it's also one you have to pay for, with that said I got a Xbox live subscription special were I paid $70 for 2 years + 2500 ms points so I guess you could say I made out like a bandit last time I renewed

Dude...how the hell? Please tell me that's a semi-regular special.

It was a special I got right after Reach came out, they run them every once in a while usually around the holidays, you just have to keep an eye out for them when it becomes available, btw when you renew on these deals it adds to your existing deal so you don't get the points till the new one kicks in

    • Below average? Seriously?? That is wild AF My man we ain't watching the same game... And I'm hard-pressed to believe you're watching the same film coaches are either if that is the take you honestly believe... I've been to almost every home game at BOA over the past 20 years... I've seen a lot of bad QB play over the past 7 years. Anybody that wasn't truly impressed by what Bryce did what the cast-offs he had to work with at the end of last year is delusional. His top 3 weapons were a 34 undrafted guy, a 7th round journeyman, and an UDFA rookie... seriously, what are we doing here??!! Some of these takes are beyond outlandish... You admitted yourself you're comparing Bryce to a guy you didn't even watch but are cherry picking stats for... So go back to your eyeballs and make it simple... how much NFL football have you watched my man?? Bc to me and my eyeball test, Bryce blew it out of the effing water down the stretch. What QBs are you watching playing so much better than him that you feel confident in saying "below average?" If you watched that and came away with anything else, we ain't watching the same thing... But beyond the eyeball test, every advanced metric in the book backs it up also... so again, what are you seeing that no one else is?? You think just anybody is going out there and dueling with Mahomes & Hurts with an almost comical inferior supporting cast and doing that? Whatever, to each their own, but it is wild to pull for a team where so many people feel compelled to crap on your QB after he just pulled maybe the greatest in-season turn around in league history and was playing by any eyeball test (for anyone that has watched an appreciable amount of NFL football) or even the advanced metrics for that matter.
    • You don't talk about TMac's QB that way!
    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
