Keyshawn on Mike Shula

I could care less about Keyshawn, but he may have a point here.

Did anybody notice during the game Cam sitting beside Shula looking at the pictures? It's the first time I had ever noticed Cam doing this.

The problem I noticed was that Shula more or less had his back turned to Cam and seemed to be discussing things with Anderson. I started watching Shula more closely and it seemed like everytime he was on camera he was talking with Anderson.

Hey coach, try working with you young starting QB. It almost make me thing Shula was trying to learn something from Anderson.

Cam isn't getting any support if his QB coach is (or seems to be) ignoring him during games.

Dude has a point...Cam needs a QB coach. What did Shula do with QBs besides that one year with David Gerrard

this was a concern that i dismissed when he was hired. it didn't make me comfortable at all because of his track record, but i tried telling myself it wasn't that big of a deal.

I'll take Polians word over Keshawn or anybody on this board all day everyday without a second thought. At some point the players have to take some responsibility and the blame anyone on earth but them has to end.

I'd actually be for the hiring of Weinke as qb coach when/if we have a major staff overhaul. Guy knows his stuff and has a good relationship with Cam. Most good QB coaches weren't good players...take the Harbaughs, Jason Garrett, and Jim Zorn

I'd hire Warren Moon (assuming he's interested) but in fairness to Shula he oversaw some good years with Garrard.

Who has he been given? In my quick search the two Qbs that have mainly played in his years as a Qb coach are Fielder and Garrard. And he had them years after they came Nfl. If your a position coach, when your given lack of talent, I don't think you should be judged on the absence of talent produced.

The one Qb with talent that came to Shula was Newton , and look what happened. That's not to say Shula was the biggest factor. But there's credit he deserves.

Cam isn't a perfect player. Should we really expect him to walk up to Shula and ask, "Can you coach me?"?

When he made the point that Mike Shula is basically riding off the coattails of his father. He also said what QB has Mike Shula made great. That just about sums it up.

pennington had a weak arm and a body made of glass. he only played started 16 games in a season twice out of two years and aside from that the most he ever started was 12 and 13 games and really only 4 years that he started more than 10 games. he only had more than 20 TDs once (of course getting hurt and missing so many games didn't help). he only had 6 games where he threw for over 300 yards. i think he only had 9 games in his career that he threw 3+ TDs. he was efficient, but not really more than that. he had quite a bit more TDs than INTs and more wins than losses, but he was never one of the best in the game. in his most productive year he was barely top 10.

i always thought, though, that he was one of the smarter QBs out there, he just didn't have the body to handle the league long term or the ability to play to equal his football IQ. i just had a lot of respect for him and always wished he'd been able to do more and hoped that at miami he would do well, but it just didn't happen.

both pennington and weinke, though, were never as good as they could have been. i think both were and are better suited to be coaches. i actually hoped a couple years back that we'd pick up pennington when i knew he was going to be released so that he could help groom whatever young QB we had starting. i could think of few QBs i'd rather have carrying a clipboard on the sidelines offering vet insight to a young QB and i can't think of many that i would rather have in QBs meetings working with a young QB to help him recognize things that defenses were doing and ways it could be beaten.
