"do you really mean it when you ask someone how they're doing?'

I mean it, you really never know what a person is going through and talking to get something off their chest could make a huge difference on their outlook on life.

This...

I mean it or I don't say it. Sometimes I am labled an asshole for doing so but I honestly don't care, I think asking someone somehting you don't care says something is wrong with you. Don't live your life trying to be nice, genuinely be nice or stfu, last thing poeple need is fake garbage crap. People are smart, they know when you don't actually care, and thats when you recieve typical boring crap responses.

Don't let poeple's answer affect you, just listen, learn something about them, or maybe even yourself. When your time is up here on earth or you get older you'll understand more.

We all need to remember we aren't the only ones on the planet and a lot of time poeple are dealing with bigger demons than we are. If you're not humble in this life you'll never know happiness.

Funny how the stoner and the dying has the best/mot similar reponse.

I mean if you ask, you have to expect whatever response they give you... if someone was bad off and wanted to talk, I would certainly listen.

As far as someone asking me that... depends on how well I know them. For the vast majority of people, I would just reply "fine" even if there was an issue in my life.

In general though, most people only ask that out of politeness and don't expect to have you unload your problems on them...

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
