Yes I know the thread title is grammatically incorrect, it is intentional. Anyway here in this little lovely nugget of an article by Adam Rank pointlessly debating who is more like Superman in the NFL: Cam Newton or Adrian Peterson.

Frankly I don't get the comparison. Anyway the article basically states that Adrian Peterson (the best running back in the NFL) is a better running back than Cam Newton (the quarterback). If it's just because Cam does a superman celebration after rushing TDs then maybe we should publish hateful articles about Rodgers doing his discount double check when he's no longer the reigning champion. Maybe we should compare Victor Cruz to the best salsa dancers in the world and critique his form. Reading the comments is really funny, it's amazing how well the media has duped so many people into thinking Cam is a douchebag and is entirely responsible for the Panthers lack of success.

Why they didn't compare AP to other running backs, or Cam to other quarterbacks or other second year players is flat out puzzling. Rank just tossing more hate around proving a point that didn't need to be proven. Did you guys know AP is a better running back then Cam? I sure as hell didn't (facepalm).

Actually to my surprise it seems like most of the commentors agree that the article is stupid. There are some cam haters in there but most of the hate is directed at Rank for such a dumb article.

The general consensus seems to be that Cam is a borderline top 10 QB, AP is the best RB by a long shot, but that the article was still idiotic.

      When you analyze what Tulsky has done the only positive was getting Ehlers, he blew the Gentzel signing, whiffed on Rantanan, signed Miller who is a terrible fit, never addressed the goalie problem, signing a declining Freddie instead, and wasted a ton of cap space this year with inaction. My verdict is he might be great at analytics but sucks as a general manager.

      If you think the refs we have are bad, you probably don't remember just how bad it got the last time they used replacement refs... including an incident of a Packers fan ref massively influencing a game. The NFL, when you consider all the other things tied to it like TV rights, betting, stadiums (construction, ticket prices, heck even parking and concessions), plus merchandizing, is probably a trillion dollar industry. Give the refs what they want, pay them and let's get back to having games.

      Probably.  You never know.  It always amazes me to think how many times they miss on first rounders (about 50%) and the number of misses increases every round.  Then there are UDFAs that make the team every year.  I guess we are always looking for the next gem--but most never make it.  Funny, I was at dinner last night and there was this big guy with a WCU shirt on.  I recognized him--that OT from Western that we gave a tryout last year or the year before--Smith.  He explained his experience--just wanted to see how he could hold up against the big boys.  He played a preseason game and was terrible, fwiw.
