Is It Really That Hard To Figure Out?

All the post game interviews, the media asked one question, Why are you guys winning now, what happened? Its simple. They threw away the gimmicky college offense and went with a traditional NFL offense. Against SanDiego, the read option was just a bad dream. Cam rushed for what 7 yards, stood in the pocket, and picked the San Diego secondary apart. Cam has finally understood the usefullness of the checkdown. On a side note I have to give Cam major props today. The guy clearly had a knee injury and was bleeding all over the place from his hand. That guy is the real deal. I've seen some nancy qb's go to the locker room in similar situations. Thx Cam. Go Panthers.

One thing I will add....how does this apply to Rivera? Could this mean that with the development of Cam could save Rivera's job? He(Rivera and Chud) has certainly made mistakes but do we give him any benefit of the doubt on offense?.I think he has done as well as he could on defense given our talent.I truly believe losing Shockey was a blow to Cams passing game and the offense.Lets face it ,LaFell is not the best at getting open and Shockey was very good at that. It was clearly a mistake having the read option as our base offence and our OL does not have the talent yet to have an effective running game. This team could have given up... they are fighting for something.

they are playing for their jobs, this game footage, is what the next GM will analyze and make decisions on who stays and who goes. You could say they are playing for Rivera, their not, they are playing for a ? GM right now. They want to ensure that their ridiculously overpaid contracts continue for another year under a new GM. Money has been and always will be the best motivator.

Well playing for your job is a given but you have seen in recent weeks players and teams play well for different causes as well ie Dallas,KC, and the Colts.

Bob literally limped back into the game last week and led a drive during which he collapsed in pain after every throw. I know this probably isn't what was going on in his mind, but I was so relieved he stayed in the game and played hurt to avoid feeding the "Model Citizen RG3-sus is everything Diva Cam isn't" rhetoric.

    • Correct this logic I might if it meant taking his guaranteed money now and spread it over 3 years (2026-2028) and maybe add $6m.  I am not sure you can do that, or that he would do it, but it would be a way for him to extend his career and bank accounts and we would be getting him for $6m for 2 years (if healthy), basically, since his entire salary is guaranteed now.  If not, we lose an additional $6m spread over 2 years.  So let's say his guaranteed $$ for 2026 is $18m.  Give him a $24m contract ($8m per) through 2028.  Worst case:  We get $10m in cap relief now and create $3m dead cap for 2 years (2027-8).   Best case?  We get cap relief now and a good/decent guard/tackle for 2 years (2027-2028) and the total salary per year when he is active would be $12m if you don't count any money for the season he cannot play.  That is a good value, and we'd basically be getting a 50% discount rate.  Since we have so much guaranteed now, extending him is not as crazy as it seems.   Something has to be wrong with this logic...
    • I don't disagree about Nikishin's potential availability, but Hamilton as a replacement? Not an upgrade in my book.
