Why the Saints** game?

Lumps

Recommended Posts

The Saints are a losing team, they lost some players earlier and don't have their head coach. Yet some are using it the sole factor is determining what they think will happen with Rivera and I ask why? Is it because they are able to get more wins with no coach vs. our two year coach? Is it because technically 7-9 is better than 6-10, forget the fact it took all the way to the last game to achieve a 7 game winning record, 5 being losing teams.

It still doesn't prove anything we don't know about Rivera and I still don't consider the Saints their former selves or a significant opponent. You don't got to the post season three years in a row then all of a sudden try and scrape by evening out the season with 8-8 and say you're the same team. They will probably be rebuilding a bit after this season. Not only that but we already beat the Saints, who were trying real hard to win. Why does beating a losing team keep a coach here, what does beating a team that doesn't matter in a game that doesn't matter prove about Rivera?

If you want him to stay fine, this question is more for the poeple who think this game means more than the first 10, just wondering why.

The saints are still a team to reckon with. It's all about winning. We haven't had a four game winning streak in years. I'm not saying if we win this game that Ron stays but this is a division rival that I would love to stomp at their home. They tried to embarrass us last year so now it's time for payback

The reason is because they are a talented team. One who just beat the bucs 41-0 and beat the cowboys who had everything to play for. A loss to them proves this is last season all over again. A win makes you think Rivera and co have actually turned a corner with this group. It isnt one game, its the culmination of the second half of, the season. Last year it resulted in an ass beating, if this year is the same RR is out the door. Ron and Cam have always folded under pressure. Well the PRESSURE is on, lets see how the respond. Hopefully Jerry lets RR know its, win, or GTFO!

I've said before I don't care if Rivera stays or goes but I also don't understand the if we win or lose against the Saints being a factor. We have 31 games to evaluate what Rivera has done. Do we really need 32?

Yes.

It's the last chance for the RR haters to say "I told you so" .

since we've been on this little roll they can't say much without looking stupid so.........

it's got to come down to the last game, we have to win this one or else.

PS, anyone that doesn't think this team is trending up.......... is an idiot.

I don't think this one game will determine whether he stays or goes. That being said, a win Sunday will mean that we bettered last years record. Fwiw, I think I predicted that we would be 7-9 or 8-8 this year, so a win would mean I got it right. :)

I am not sure if Rivera should stay or go, and I am glad I don't have to make the decision. But as far as trending up, we proved last year that we could beat struggling teams in games that didn't really matter. We are doing the same thing this year. I won't be convinced he is the right man for the job until he starts beating decent to good teams in games that actually matter. And we still haven't proven we can win close games.
