Have no fear this offseason

Panthro

Recommended Posts

People are getting upset at Panthro b/c deep down the entire fanbase is starting to fear that his opinion is correct.

What if Hurney knew those last few contracts were garbage?

What if ALL of the idiot decisions come straight back to JR ?

It means its all for naught, if they all do come back to JR we are fuged, Cam Keek all of the young talent we THINK we might have will be wasted on poo decisions. It's a fear all of us should have had in some form and if you haven't you either are in a medication worthy level of denial or you just aren't fuging paying attention.

Someone said this on twitter today and it hurts how much it is true, "If JR worked as hard on the Panthers as he did lining his pockets with the lockout this team would have a couple Championships by now"

I'm not, at least not yet.

To be clear, there's no actual evidence that any of that stuff you listed is true. It's just people's opinions. Could it be true? Sure, but until there's something that confirms it, it's just opinion and theory.

As to the future, said elsewhere the Panthers did two things over the past year that none of us on here would have predicted. They dumped Marty Hurney, whom pretty much everyone here thought had a lifetime contract, and they hired an outside consultant, something very few thought Richardson would do.

Like I said, if Richardson screws up the GM choice, then I'll worry. But for right now at least, I see way more evidence that things are not SSDD than I do that they are.

Just like the concept that he is "ALL ABOUT DEM SUPABOWLZ" is just opinion.

Hurney should have been fired with Fox. Could one not say the JR holding on to a GM that had wasted a bucket of draft picks, never really been able to develop key positions (WR/DT/QB) and generally acted as a bullet catcher for the Owner is just yet another example of an Owner that doesn't really get it ?

I see a no name GM and either Rivera Kept, or some scrub Coordinator like Perry Fewell hired.

My outlook on this front office has never been lower.

I never said he failed because he didn't win a Superbowl. Reread my post and you;'ll get your answers...slowly though I don't want you to miss anything.

If you come back with this same nonsense then I'll ask you how being a valuable franchise has related to success on the field....

I'm glad you couldn't care less about winning. You seem to be in good company with the owner...no wonder you defend him so

Your tone has been hostile and combative, starting with your sarcastic apology that I in no way prompted. Now you say Im talking nonsense. . lols PANTHRO is telling someone else that theyre talking nonsense, haha mmmk

I didnt say you said not winning a superbowl was failure, I used that as my own criteria. Youre getting so defensive that your not even understanding the points that are being made.

Im not going to reread anything youve written, once is enough for my lost brain cells, thanks. Your point was simple as your mind made it. You can only do so much with what you've been given. You dont trust JR because he hasnt had enough winning seasons. Cryptic maybe but not complicated. Of course, ideas that are irrational are often cryptic.

Let me explain this like I would a child then. . . . Ask yourself if Richardson's intensions are good or bad? If you determine that they are good then that is alllllll you can hope for. You complain but offer no solutions, lols youre just another part of the problem in my book if thats the case.

edit: and Im shocked to hear a conifdent dude like the Kurb say otherwise, listening to Panthro too much methinks

Honestly I think JR wants to win. That said, if you had a CEO with his track record of owning this team would you as a board member vote to keep him or replace him ?

4 successful years.

I'm running out of people other than JR to blame is all.

Which likewise is all opinion.

For my part, I think Richardson's biggest mistake was trusting Marty Hurney. That particular mistake is now over.

The Panthers aren't the first franchise to fire one guy when they should have fired the other (or both) and they won't be the last. That happens on a pretty regular basis. Both the Bears and Eagles just fired good head coaches in favor of their GMs. We'll see who made the right decision down the road.

As to the Panthers, if Jerry Richardson were running the GM search, I could see being down. But since he hired a true football guy like Ernie Accorsi to do it for him, I see plenty of reason to be optimistic.

Again, if that process ends in disaster, then I'll be down. For the moment though, we're pursuing two candidates, either of whom I'd be perfectly happy with.

You have a very pessimistic outlook. I suppose I don't take this stuff seriously enough to ever let it get me to the point of painting my fingernails black, wearing skinny jeans, and brooding by candle light like you and Panthro. Obviously I'm just trying to make joke to lighten this place up a little.

Well, thats a different story but this league doesnt work like that so we shouldnt think in those terms if thats the case.

I just bragged to my Bro In Law, the Bucs fan, that the Panthers are more valuable than his franchise and our owner has good intentions.

I then told him that makes us even on the year.

Of course it doesnt, and Im just as pissed as you are for getting swept. . . but it is a niiiiiiiice little gold nugget in the pocket to say btw, we're still more valuable. Damn man its nice to have something to come back with right?
