New Cars for 2013

It's weird seeing the blue 2 as a Ford

eh, not for me. It was a Ford before it was a Dodge. But I am sad to see dodge leaving NASCAR, one has to wonder what their Charger would have looked like. And actually they had a 2013 Charger trimmed out and all ready to go before they pulled the plug.

They haven't been stock for decades, though. What models of today's production cars would people pay to see race anyway?

At least these look more like the showroom model than the last several attempts.

I realise they haven't been stock for decades. That's not my point. If they're going to race these roll cages with sheet metal they should consider not calling them "stock" cars. As for what models, people are watching the sheet metal versions of the fusion, ss and camry now. What's the difference between that and the monte carlo or thunderbird? or torino, charger and roadrunner? two doors? It used to matter what brand of car you raced, hell the manufacturers used to get points and a trophy at the end of the season not to mention the notariety of winning a nascar championship. Now they are so close to being the same car its not even funny.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
