QB's 24 or 2 per draft

DT'S 23 OR 1.91 per draft

WR 21 or 1.175 per draft

OT 20 or 1.66 per draft

DE 17 or 1.41 per draft

LB 15 or 1.25 per draft

CB 13 OR 1.08 per draft

RB 13 or 1.08 per draft

S 7 OR .583 per draft

TE 2 or .166 per draft

G 1 or 0.08 per draft

After looking at that i went and looked at how many players made the top 13 big board at each of these 3 sources, ESPN'S Scouts inc., NFL.COM'S prospect grades and NFL draft scout.

The following players all made their top 13 players.

in order of highest average ranking:

Joeckel(T)

Warmack(G)

Star(DT)

Demontre Moore(DE)

Barkevious Mingo(DE)

Jarvis Jones(LB)

so theres 6 player's I deem as near locks to be off the board by the time we pick with Warmack possibly falling since Guards rarely go that high. Normally 1 RB goes in the top 13 but not likely this year so I could see Warmack sneaking in place of a RB.

History also tells us their will likely be 2 QB's gone so that brings the total to 8 off the board. 2 DT's are usually gone by the 14th as well and it appears Richardson is the most likely to go behind Star inside the top 13. Add in Milliner as an average of 1 corner goes and that takes the total up to 11 off the board. 2 WR's seems to be the norm as well and that means Patterson and Allen could be gone too. Now thats a total off 13 players. I'll add Fisher the OT and Werner the DE as prospects who are likely to go based of their big board rankings and historical amount of times their respective positions go in the top 13.

So to recap according to history and the 3 big boards I referenced from above here are the players I think are most likely to be gone by our pick at 14.

1.Joeckel OT

2.Star DT

3.Warmack G

4.Moore DE

5Mingo DE

6.Geno Smith QB

7.Jarvis Jones LB

8.Richardson DT

9.Milliner CB

10.Patterson WR

11.Allen WR

12.Fisher OT

13.Werner DE

Of Course if any qb's or other positions like LB that we have no need at move inside the top 13 then odds of a player at a position of need will fall to us increases.

If the draft does fall this way i'd probably look to go with Hankins or Vaccaro.

edit: Jarvis Jones (LB) was also in the top 15 of every big board I referenced. I removed a 2nd qb from being drafted to adjust for him.

No, it's not. It's one of the most important positions in the game and the only team that didnt know it were the Marty Hurney led Carolina panthers.

It is so blatant too. I have had a hard time these past four seasons watching teams gash us on the ground up the middle. We have not had capable DTs since Buckner and Jenkins.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
