Jack Harbaugh Claims Jim Said Kaepernick Was Best Player In 2011 Draft Back Then

Okay, the SuperBaugh articles are almost done now. But the Kaepernick hype persist at least one more day.

Yes, that's what Jack Harbaugh (the dad) told the media during a press conference Weds during a sit down. I'll take this as revisionist history, and won't start a breathless "who would you draft Cam or Kaepernick, and do you agree with Harbaugh" debate & poll. LOL. Nonetheless here's the exchange from the presser via the CBS article:

"After the first day of [the draft] was over, Jim called on his way home and he asked what I thought about the draft," Jack Harbaugh said. "We didn't have much to talk about as it relates to the draft, but he had not expressed to me who they were thinking about drafting at the quarterback position so I said, ‘Jim, tomorrow in the second round, surely you're going to draft a quarterback, but which one is it going to be?' and it was dead silent."

Jim Harbaugh trusts no one.

He said ‘are you talking to anybody?' and I said ‘I swear I'm not talking to anyone.' He said ‘we're drafting Colin Kaepernick. Do I not only think that he's the best quarterback in the draft, I think he's the best football player in the draft,'" Jack Harbaugh said.

Jim Harbaugh obviously wanted Kaepernick bad. The 49ers traded three picks to Denver -- their second, third and fifth round selections -- to move up nine spots in the second round where they took the former Nevada star with the 36th overall pick.

Now remember who was in that draft: Cam Newton, Von Miller, AJ Green, Julio Jones, JJ Watt, Patrick Peterson, and the 49ers 7th pick, Aldon Smith. Of course this begs the questions, as different media have expressed:

"So why didn't you draft him with the 7th pick and/or move up higher with the 36th/2nd round pick you selected him with Jim?

Yeah, let's just overlook that little tidbit. Nonetheless, You gotta love it! Harbaugh was the same guy telling Alex Smith last year, "you're the best QB in the league". And now he's saying, Kaepernick (who couldn't even start last year over career bust Smith) was the best player in the draft, and now Alex Smith is looking to leave town. Gotta Luv it indeed!

If it was alex smith that took the 49ers to the superbowl im pretty sure he would have said that smith was the best player in his draft totally forgetting about aaron rodgers and realizing that he's a dumb c***

well, well, well, what have we here? another insecure neckbeard (most likely 12 years old) shitting up the place with his insecure nonsense about Cameron Newton. you picked the wrong day to fug around, asshole. i've just texted Kurb (we're friends irl) about this thread, so he'll be here shortly to deal with the matter, and most likely hand out some sorely needed bans. i'm also going to report every post in the thread (for safe measure), as well as alert the other moderators via cellular phone and fax. and just in case you wanna try and pull a fast one, i'm screen shotting *the entire thread for additional proof* and e-mailing Zod about the matter personally. i'm tired of you stupid fuging Cam dick sniffers pressing out whatever poo about other QBs, spinning irrelevant poo about cam, and then having 10 page circlejerks a day on the fuging panthers board. it's time for you assholes to get a reality check, because this poo won't fly for much longer. prepare your anus, you 500 pound piles of poo. your days are *fuging numbered*.

Are you okay (unless you're joking)? :phew:

This is news. No one is making this up.

Cam Newton, and other players were referenced in many of the articles.

No insecurity at all (did you read what I wrote or just the headline)?

Take it for what it is, and move on. This is almost the off season. What other Panther news is available at the moment (besides the Cam Car Accident Hoax)? It's mostly SuperBaugh related. Next time, just scroll down.

    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
