" » The Carolina Panthers sure sound like they want to de-emphasize the read-option as part of their offense"

Read option should remain a basic and routine play....

Shouldn't be our offense but you are talking about full retard if it isn't a constant theme.

Also, the new GM isn't a coach....he doesn't dictate plays. Cam is Rivera's golden ticket....ball will stay in his hands. Newton is a beast bc of his arms and legs. Worst thing for Cam will be a a organization that tries to turn him into a scramble only Qb

Listen to the presser from today and you'll get that impression too.

Bruce Arians was also in the news knocking it today (link)

Gantt gets it wrong in thinking that it's anti-mobile QBs though. It's about guys that can run a pro-style system. You don't have to be slow and unathletic to be able to do that.

The guy came from an organization that won 2 lucky superbowls all of sudden have all the answers. his giant was 8-8 when they made the playoffs and to the superbowl. That's just one more win than we had last year. Plus we don't have an OL nor WRs for this vertical game he is talking about.

I think we have both seatle & 9ers on our schedule. After they manhandle us running all over us with the read-option we'll start hearing murmurs, especially if we have a losing record. That won't last.

That sounds like Arians is excluding a certain type of players from his Aryan team emphasizing how much a traditionalist he is. Is Cam traditional enough? Because Cam can stand in the pocket like anyone and throw darts. Or does he mean a different tradition. I hope he also brings in some 'traditional' RBs, WRs, CBs, LBs, DEs, etc. in his all Aryan team.
