Have you ever heard of the Lewin Career Forecast System?

In short this is a system made by footballoutsiders.com analysis team, that claim they have created the PERFECT system, to PIN POINT WHICH COLLEGE QBS WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE NFL.

The seven variables invovled in the system.

1.Career college games started

2.Career completion rate. Because of recent rises in completion rate across college football, this is a logarithmic variable, so that as a quarterback's completion percentage goes down, the penalty for low completion percentage gets gradually larger.

3.Difference between the quarterback's BMI and 28.0. This creates a small penalty for quarterbacks who don't exactly conform to the "ideal quarterback size."

4.For quarterbacks who come out as seniors, the difference in NCAA passer rating between their junior and senior seasons. (For quarterbacks who come out as juniors or redshirt sophomores, this variable is always 5.0, which is the average increase for the seniors in our data set.)

5.A binary variable that penalizes quarterbacks who don't play for a team in a BCS-qualifying conference.

6.Run-pass ratio in the quarterback's final college season.

7.Total rushing yards in the quarterback's final college season.

This the link to the 2012 one....basically said Robert Griffin and Andrew Luck was the best. but claim they also hit the nail on Russell Wilson, but wasn't sure about it. Also claimed that Cam Newton was an exception to the rule.(well of course he is.....he's NEO. lol)

Now this ia the new one for 2013......claims GENO SMITH and LANDRY JONES will be the best QB"S out this draft.

So do you buy into this system or do you sell it off?

I think it's another system saying, we'll if he's good now he'll probably be good later. But I think if a man truly wants to be great he will bust his ass to get it. Cam's not an exception. He's played well at all levels of football but people judged him because of the system he was in, his physical ability and the perception given off by his personality.

If you guys are on football's future you've probably seen me defend Cam against the d-bags that still think Cam's not a franchise guy, splits a locker room, or a knucklehead. It drives me up a wall. I'm still not convinced RGIII will be a corner stone player, Cam's showed way more in my opinion.

    • Let's be real. Signing Matt Kalil who was at the time inconsistent at best was always an extremely risky move and largely initiated by the fact he was related to one of our most prominent players Ryan Kalil. Memories get fuzzy the longer time passes I guess. Go watch some old Panthers games with Ted Ginn nearly losing us games. Then watch Cam Newton keep going back to him again and again and again. Then read all the Xavier Legette criticism while making excuses for Bryce being swept by rookie 2nd round pick Tyler Shough. Throwing TMac under the bus is just further proof how deranged the Bryce Young defense force has become. Bryce Young can barely compete in this gutter iteration of the NFC South. Let's see him take this WR core to the playoffs in an NFC South with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan
    • IMO, getting rid of Bryce will just reveal how bad Canales is. I would prefer getting rid of Canales so we can also get rid of Bryce. I view them as intrinsically linked at this point.
    • I don't disagree, but honestly, this season has been better than I thought it would be.  At the onset, I think I voted that we'd win 3-4 games (or whatever the stratification was on that poll), and here we are with 7 wins and potential for more.  We're a sack hair from being able to sneak into the playoffs - yes, yes nfc south nonsense but still this season has exceeded my expectations.  If we can somehow move on from Bryce and find some consistency, I believe the Panthers are trending upwards (overall).
