Another 1 yr deal suggestion for poos and giggles...

CRA

Now this is a one year deal I would be all for, but it's also a pipe dream....

Maybe...that IMO is what Gettlemen was suggesting or hinting at though he liked.

Seymour at this point is only probably looking at a 1 yr deal and shouldn't be that expensive bc he isn't an every down player at this point. He is from Columbia.....son I think down the road about to play at GA.

....granted, any FA moves we could make would be dependent on Gettlemen creating more room

Seymour would be a nice stop gap, 1-year deal type, especially if Canty and Dwan sign elsewhere. Like CRA mentioned he's from the Columbia area and his son, Devondre, lives in a suburb of Atlanta and will be a freshman OL at UGA next year. Might be a draw for him to come to Carolina.

We'd still need a NT type as well. I've been on the Sammie Hill bandwagon for a while. Also like Pat Sims, who would probably come cheap since he's coming off injury and wasn't an every down starter in Cincy but effective against the run.

I swear every one of these threads has to do with the player living in the Carolina's at some point.

Well, we can't point to our great history or winning tradition as the "little something" that could help attract a someone....

Basically it will come down to money, having no other option or location for a older FA vet...

Money is 9 times out of 10 gonna be the biggest draw but playing in a region where you've grown up, still have family, property, etc. can be a big selling point to FAs, especially for older players.

The metro Charlotte area is a great area to buy nice real estate at a great rate, especially compared to other major NFL cities. There are a lot of athletes/celebs that have off-season homes in the area.

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
