June 1 cuts

CRA

Recommended Posts

While teams can designate 2 early June 1st cuts, it really only benefits the player, giving them a head start on finding a new home. For the team, they still have to wait until June 1 to get credit for the cap savings.

We did this with Wharton last year, but it's possible we won't have any "early" June 1st cuts this year.

So risk giving him the option of walking away by dragging his contract out to the last possible moment? Or be put into the same situation that Baltimore just went through? No thanks....

the situation baltimore was just in involved winning a super bowl...

I'm COMPLETELY ok with that situation happening to us too.

No the situation where they drug their feet and vastly overpaid for Flacco...

I know this is pretty much blasphemy to say, but if Hardy has another year like last year we may not be able to make enough room for both....

i expect him to get close to paul kruger type money....probably from someone other than us.

This is the real deal, folks, not in principle. It's done for #Browns and Kruger, source tells PD. 5yr 40 million

Incorrect. We tagged Pep 1 year and let him walk the next. You don't sign the tag, you don't play that season. Remember the Drew Brees situation last summer?

But that is the point....the tag isn't a means to keep a player that wants out. Just a delay....
