Revis likely to land in our division(Bucs)

The Bucs have 31 million dollars in cap space, they could easy front load his contract and still have a crap ton of room.....unlike us they aren't terrible mismanaged into cap hell.

And they will have to sign their QB and Mike Williams. Plus the contracts for their big spending spree last year will be coming up soon.

No, I was replying that Peterson came back from ACL surgery in record time, and broke the single season rushing record, so to think Revis can't return to form is foolish. I've had the surgery myself, and I'm fine, although obviously not taking an NFL beating.

I would agree if other people have done it but we are talking about one Guy. That does not make this a trend.

Oh, he didn't break the record, and he signed his new deal the season before he got hurt. So it's a pretty different situation. I think it's foolish to assume a guy will be at 100% the following season because Adrian Peterson and Jamal Charles had good years.

Not really, most of those contracts were 5 years, which means they have 3 left. The cap is expected to skyrocket in 2015, just in time for them to have a crap ton of room again.

Bucs got to much damn money to spend.

they only have a qb for one more year and then some of those big contracts like jackson starts to kick in these next couple years. so yea, they have money today but that doesn't necessarily mean they are in great shape in the near future

im confused at all the people who feel this isnt a big deal. revis is the best corner in the league. the bucs were a team that has a great front 7. if health revis shuts down his side of the field which will help the already talented mark barron. they have been making progress each year. atleast they have money to make these moves

Oddly enough, I don't think that Revis is the best cornerback in the league? Is he the most talked about? Yes. The most polarizing? Yes. But, he's played in New York, with a very good defense in front of him and another outstanding CB across from him.

I'm not saying that Revis is bad. But how much will he actually help the Bucs? I don't think he's light years ahead of Eric Wright in ability, and that didn't help the Bucs last season.

The Jets had an awful to mediocre pass rush. Revis was/is the real deal. You're nuts.

Never said they had a great pass rush, but they had a fantastic defense. It isn't all about how you can get to the QB, your scheme matters as well.

But sorry, I don't think he's that great.

And he isn't so much better than Eric Wright that the Bucs getting him makes them a Super Bowl contender.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
