Yea if i'm completely honest. Western is kind of a joke now, don't know what happened to them.

Sorry SCP

This is true. They went through a series of bad coaching hires. I played for Bob Waters--they tried to hire from within. In the Southern Conference, you need to hire recruiters who can be assistant coaches, not assistant coaches who have to recruit.

WCU thinks they are heading in the right direction, but when you get the rep of a joke, it is hard to get players in.

App's budget was 5 times more than WCU's a few years after I left. Hard to beat money.

I know Clyde. He went to my high school and would come back during his days with the Eagles and work out with us.

I'm telling you, for a small school Western has has some good pro's. More than App can claim.

I think we talked about it once, now that you mention it. I heard his name recently--working for a team as a scout or something. Clyde was a good college player, but he was only about 240 to 250 at WCU. He beefed up in the pros.

We were not great friends, but I liked him. Louis Cooper was a nut--Dean B. and I were friends, but have since lost touch. He returned to WCU for 2 Spring semesters to finish his degree and we kicked around together. Good times.

He was a good guy. It's tough to keep up with guys once they make the pros. They get tugged in so many directions. Hoover got me and some buddies into the locker room after the Broncos game a few years ago but I haven't talked with him since.

The WCU players may have been at App's pro day. I know they had Breitenatein from Woffy there

I'm gonna miss beating up in Western every year :(. With us moving up, I can now wish our little brother the best of luck and hope they win the SoCon once again
