Been watching Patterson highlights

And I don't think he's top 20 pick... Dude looks so raw. Plus on many occasions he would slide to avoid a hit instead of picking up extra yards. Most of his damage came on his runs after catch and missed tackles... That's not gonna happen in NFL. Too much hype around this guy.

Thank you sir.

I want a WR in first round but I don't think Patterson is it. He will take time to develop. He would be #3 behind Smith and Lafell... Why spend 14th overall pick on a project?

why spend a #1 pick on a project QB?

playing DA here, but the guy has a special ability to become an elite WR and has played 1 year of major college football. with his skill set, and some coaching he could become a big time talent. he could help in the return game as well, but Ginn is here for that. not taking Patterson may be the reason why Ginn was brought in, and the panthers may want a more polished WR like Allen or Hopkins.

I don't think any analysts disagrees that Patterson is raw. However, the fact he is still the #1 WR ranked by most analysts combined with the fact that he is so raw, should tell you something. The guy is a freak and a playmaker

Outside of AJ Green and Julio Jones, very very few WRs make an impact in the first year anyway. Most break out in their 3rd year. There have only been a handful of 1,000 yard rookie WRs in the history of the NFL.

Who had the greatest Season any QB has had in College.

I didn't think Patterson had the greatest season for WR. Did he???

Panthers cannot afford waiting 3 years with Lafell in final year of contract and Steve Smith going on 35. In my opinion Austin and Hopkins are much better option in late first round.

Last 2 Drafts we got day one starters in the 1st round. I agree with you I don't think Patterson is a day 1 starter.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
