Anyone else think it's a strong possibillity we trade D-will on draft day?

What if Gettleman could move up in the draft offering our #14 pick and D-will in a trade ? Or maybe offering this package to a team needing to move up in the draft and also a RB. This might give us first round pick and possibly a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Problem with that logic is the good teams who may be in a win now mood that might entertain the absurdity of wanting an old and expensive RB......is those aren't the teams drafting a the top of the draft.

Taking the cap implications out of the equation - I think the Panthers are 5-11 without DWill last year. I guess that would have meant a higher draft pick and no Rivera... so take it for what it's worth.

What is your logic behind that? no one else could of made plays against the Saints?

Also you could argue Carolina being forced to play Tolbert more could of helped us considering the OL we had....

That's a valid point. But he made key, big plays in a few games that put the game out of reach.

Skins

Falcons #2

Saints #2

All I'm saying is no other RB was making those big runs. Could someone else have? Sure. Could a different running approach with Tolbert have worked? Sure. But with the limited carries RBs were getting from Chud, big plays were needed to make the running game a factor.

I know that picks are changing hands more frequently, but what 4th rounder is ever gonna equal what we "should" get from D-Will? The cap penalties are still there if we trade, a fourth round pick, and I'm speaking from experience here, has not been very productive for us. Give away a former probowler for the chance to draft some camp fodder? fuging REALLY?! Why? Just be patient and wait to see if the kid has anything left for us. We have already paid for it.

    • I hope you understand that this Anti Bryce thing as you call it is really a pro Panthers thing. I think I can safely use we. We want the best for the Panthers.  As far as this other post saying ‘Anti’ Bryce people do misinformation.. you mean like going all in on “Renfro should have caught” that poorly thrown ball? I guess it was week 1. And calling it a drop. Comical btw.  I wonder, did you call that out or let it slide because it aligned with your agenda?
    • These are great posts with the comparisons and the numbers.   I haven’t lookyat Smity’s numbers since probably the first time he was on the ballot.  But if you watched every week you know what he is. Whatever his yardage or targets numbers were.  He was fuging dominant. I have watched since the AFL days and seen who there is to see. There are many great WRs over the years. GREAT WRs. Smitty is up there in the game of football.
    • Smith is clear cut HOF if you judge what he did by reception. Fitzgerald was a stat padder.    The most Steve Smith was ever targeted in his career was in 2005 (150 targets). The same year he wins the triple crown.    Larry Fitzgerald was targeted more than 150 times over 9 separate seasons. Not once eclipsing 1500 yards in a season.    The over glazing of Larry Fitzgerald going around is way over blown. ARZ was top 10 in passing attempts nearly his entire prime. Steve Smith and Andre Johnson had it far worse and would have surpassed his #s in the same situation.
