Just need to vent this

So, I'm in college, living in on-campus apartments. Me and 3 other guys. We're in an RA unit. The RA from last semester got promoted, so he moved out into a double unit rather than a quad. Last semester, none of us had any problems (at least, none that were ever brought to my attention). We all worked to keep the apartment generally clean in the common areas. We all shared food, dishes, etc., and were pretty much on an "if I have it, you have it" sort of system.

This semester, the replacement that moved in in place of the guy who moved out is a total tool. The guy comes from a privileged family and apparently (at least, it appears) he never had to clean up after himself. Examples: he takes the trash out of the can and leaves it by the door (the trash compactor is directly on the way to campus, which is a short walk from here, so we all walk anyway). He never takes it to the compactor (unless he feels like it, apparently). He has never used a stove before. He makes beans all the time. Makes a mess every time. Doesn't clean it. At one point, I asked him to clean it up, he said he would when the burner got cool. 2 days later, the mess is still there. I hate living in filth, so I clean it. He fries something, grease covers the stove-top....never gets cleaned unless one of us other 3 do it (usually me, since I am here more often than my 3 roommates). Me and this guy share a bathroom. He can't brush his teeth it seems, because the mirror and sink area is covered with toothpaste (and I know it isn't me doing it). He throws his bean cans in the trash....literally, throws. Bean poo covers the side of the counter that the trashcan is against and the floor around it in little spots. He washes a pot, water is all over the floor...he never gets it up. This guy does fuging NOTHING.

Now, I bring it to his attention that he needs to start at least cleaning up after himself and carrying his weight with the daily upkeep of the apartment, because I'm tired of doing it all. Only a few weeks left in the semester, so I won't have to put up with it much longer, but he at least needs to know that his laziness effects others. My other 2 roommates agree with me, and we've all tried to tell him, in different ways, that he needs to start doing poo around here. He just argues with us and tries to rationalize it. I am literally seconds from punching this dude square in his face.

I had a similar situation with a roommate in college. He would never wash his dishes. They piled up in the sink with food scraps left in them, so you can imagine the smell.

One day while he was in class, I just took all of his dishes and piled them up in front of his door. Dude went ballistic and punched one of my other roommates because he thought it was him that did it.

Good times.

We had a roomate that was the same way. We all revolted and left his dirty dishes for so long that flies and maggots started breeding, after like two weeks. We finally gave in and cleaned them up anyway. he never changed. You should just punch the guy. Seriously.

one of my old roommates was terrible about collecting pans and plates in the sink. finally i got fed up and just let it go. the end result was a pile of poo sitting in dirty sludge water that stayed there for probably a month.

i finally broke and decided to just clean it up myself. i grabbed a frying pan which was lodged at the bottom of the pile and yanked it out. the smell was so awful that i immediately ran out the front door into the rain. i threw the pan in the yard and projectile vomited off the side of the porch. i collected it later and tossed it in the dumpster.

I thought about buying a can of beans and spilling it right in front of his door, just so he gets the point by it effecting him directly. If he tried to punch anybody here...it wouldn't end well. He's 6'2" 145 lbs and couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag.

That's the point though. Anything that happens after that is self-defense.

get the rest of the people to continually hound him to clean up after his ass! if he still resists.

Already tried. We sat him down intervention style. He just argues. He has cleaned twice all year. Once, he cleaned the whole bathroom. Another time, he swept the living room floor. Outside of that, he has done absolutely nothing other than wash the one pot he uses (that he bought...he bought it to avoid doing dishes. he also bought plastic forks, spoons, and knives to avoid using the silverware that I brought with me so he wouldn't have to ever do the dishes. Which is fine, but it is just a testament to his laziness that he will spend money on plastic silverware when we have a drawer full of poo that is free to use as long as you put it in the dishwasher after you use it).

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
