What are your passions?

I think the most important factor to living a happy, fulfilling life is to identify and pursue your passions. An extra plus is to have a full time job that you are absolutely passionate about, where it doesn't even feel like work at all.

I would say my biggest passion is probably playing basketball. I could do it all day, everyday and be perfectly content. My next biggest would probably be music, rather it is learning a new instrument or discovering a band for the first time.

The thought for this came to me a couple of weeks ago. I had been feeling in kind of a rut, worn out from the 9-5 grind. I decided to bust out my old telecaster guitar and work on soloing, and before I knew it I was practicing at least an hour a day and felt great. It's a great feeling to see yourself progress at something you truly love.

I think one day I might get into teaching, maybe highschool or middle school and get into coaching sports. That seems like something that could be really rewarding in it's on way.

So what are you guys passionate about?

Man, I really want to get into golf. I'm getting married next year, so I need to get into the sports that take the longest....and Nascar isn't really an option.

It's difficult though, all my peers have been playing way longer than I have. The first time I played 18 holes was brutal.

Cooking. On days that I dont work I'm the sole cook in our house and I really enjoy experimenting with food.

Kayaking. Touring and flatwater, tried white water for a year or so and just it never took. In the colder months I go out once or twice a month but in the summer Ill be on the water 3, 4, or even 5 days a week.

Anybody can play golf, but it takes tons of practice to play well.

I've been playing since I was about 8 and really, really wish I'd played more when I was younger. My dad played nearly everyday and I could have played with him many times and I chose not to.

Boating.... I love being on the water, I love the tranquility of sitting at the boat dock late at night enjoying Chill on satellite radio while sipping hot tea. I reminisce the sound of the wind when I went sailing on a chartered boat in the Caribbean. I am working around the clock to hopefully set up a comfortable retirement at 42-44 years of age so that I can pursue a sailing lifestyle.

If I had more time it would be surfing and more surfing.

I truly love coaching and miss that. Its been years and it just came natural to me for baseball.

Reading, cooking, playing sports and writing.

But on a very basic level I flat out love making people laugh and to see things a bit differently. Maybe that's why projects mgrs get me to sit in on sessions because crazy ideas just flow.

Great topic.

    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
    • Push em to the brink!!! Shut em down Freddie!
    • I tend to look at all of these guys and wonder how committed they are to doing special teams? It's a big deal when you're fighting for roster spots. And we need massive refreshes to all phases of the special teams game. And the idea that four or five of these players could see rotational use outside of special teams would be a win. This team has accumulated quite a bit of dead wood over the last five years and its time to take an axe to some of it. These new fellows have a shot to benefit from that if they can really push. That being said, wow that receivers room is crowded right now. I'm not sure if I was a vet player with more than 2 years experience other than Adam Thielen if I'd be too sure of my future here. Tet is guaranteed a spot, Coker earned his for sure and they aren't done with XL developing yet. That's only two to three spots left for the entire room. It's going to be very competitive and better for Bryce's future, too. Safety and linebacker are the opportunity spots here this season. There's room for the right guy and we may see a starter eventually from one of these UDFAs, either by merit or injury.
