Fantastic Draft!

Recommended Posts

With our first two picks we have completely changed the way our defense is viewed. We have added aspects to our defense that can take pressure off the secondary.

We added a Guard who has potential (there were much safer options available)

We added a versatile LB who will be an immediate addition to special teams, is a great locker room presence, and may develop into a good back-up

We added a Sproles type RB who will add a dangerous pass catching RB aspect to our offense.

This draft is an A.

Shore up our interior DL with absolute studs.

Add a OG with great frame, thats athletic, and with quick feet with a ton of upside that allowed barely any sacks and hurries. Day 1 starter.

Added a nice LB that won defensive player of the year that will serve as a nice backup / depth that will prob be starting in the future.

Added a sick rb/scat back with great change of pace of vision.

I am pissed we didnt get Rodgers or Rambo but all our draft picks are studs and will contribute / help this team

We're more than halfway through the 6th round and Rambo *just* got drafted.

And Rogers hasn't been drafted *yet*.

And there were people who wanted to spend a 4th round pick on one or the other of them.

Yeah I would say B+. Very strong draft.

Star was a no-brainer. My five year old literally knew to take star. Doesn't mean it isn't a spectacular pick.

Short is Gettleman's Hog-Molly philosophy in play. I also assume there wasn't a CB/S/OL that we liked enough and I have no probelm with juicing the D line.

Cowabunga or whatever his name is seems like a reach from a D-2 but I'll give the benefit.

AJ Klein is a very good 5th round pick with good upside and will make a ST impact.

Barner has funny hair and I assume will help on ST as well.

No big complaints at all.

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
