We get free agency sooner, which isn't that bad. It's more like the offseason is getting shuffled around instead of getting longer.

How is this a bad move?  And it doesn't make the off-season longer.  As long as the draft is before OTAs, who really cares.  Giving vets more time to sign with a team before the draft is not a bad thing.

unless they actually reduce the number of games, the offseason won't get any longer.  there's nothing in there that says there won't still be the same 17 week season, and then 5 weeks for the playoffs.  In fact, they've been talking about expanding the season, which would make the offseason shorter.
