I think a strong case could be made for signing Brandon Moore

If you put any value into how Profootball focus grades OL then you will probably agree that we need to upgrade our OG held down by  Piggy. Our ability or inability to run the ball may very well define our offense in 2013 coupled with the fact we need depth on the OL and protection for Cam.

Brandon Moore is the best option to upgrade our OG spot that I can see.I do not think we can afford to wait on our 4th round draft pick to develop at the expense of our running game or protecting Cam.

So I guess the question is what type of value do you put on replacing one of the leagues worse guards with one that would at least be a top 20 even if you pay a premium ?

I agree- I think we will upgrade before the season starts

It takes some time for the OL to gel as a unit.....to me the sooner the better. To me there are weaknesses in a team you cannot ignore to have a winning football team especially in our running game.

Not sure why Gettleman hasn't brought in a capable stop-gap while Kugzilla adjusts to the NFL. OG isn't a big deal until you have incompetent players there. Then, it suddenly becomes the most important position on the field.

Yea its not like there is not sufficient film or stats to support the notion coupled with the players behind him on the depth chart.other than Kugzilla  are a couple of undrafted camp bodies.

I would be extremely happy with either Moore or Winston. Both are, at least, competent starters and probably more. I think we need one more body on the line and there are still guys out there.

Yea I think a case could be made for Winston as well. Bell can at least run block but he is a liability in the passing game.Having both the RG and RT being weak will cost us games

Its entirely within the realm of possibility that we're in contact with him & other upgrades as we speak, but since we'te niether a perennial playoff team, nor a complete dumpster fire, reporters aren't rushing to tweet about it.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
