The Golden Calf of Bristol Signs with NE

That's the thing. I don't wanna watch anything that has to do with him.  I'm sick of seeing him.  If he were a good football player I may care.  But he's not and he gets the most exposure of any player in the league.

He gets the exposure because people like you who say they are sick of seeing him can't stop themselves from going into a thread, calling a radio show, etc...  and commenting about him whether it's good or bad. Not taking a shot at you, just giving an example of why he is so polarizing. If no one truely cared, the media wouldn't give him the exposure he gets. It's hard to hate on ESPN and other media outlets when "we" are the ones that keep feeding the monster.

Honestly this is the only place he could have gone. Timmy's a talented enough football player to play at the pro level, but as has been widely stated, nobody wants that circus.

New England is a credible organization with a coach who knowns how to handle the media and a rep for bringing players in weird circumstances. I'm sure the media will try to push the agenda for a while, but they won't have a foothold with Brady out there leading a successful team and Belichick not taking their crap.

I am in no way a The Golden Calf of Bristol hater and in fact I like him because his presence alone seems to piss so many people off which amuses me but what exactly is he good at? He is not that big, he is not fast, he can't catch, he can't throw......so what is it?

I'm not saying he is the best, but he isn't the worse. He isn't a bad player. I hav always respected him for his faith alone, and the fact he is a positive role model. But I never said he was a top 20 QB or anything. But I believe if he was asked to come off the bench and finish a game or win a game for u he could. Dont believe me? Ask Pittsburgh, ask his opponents that year.

And I think he is in a great place to learn. I wish him luck evn tho I extremely dislike NE.

looks like Tiebow got his *nth opportunity to pretend he is an athlete and a paycheck. Where do I sign up? What's the qualification? Is it an Equal Opportunity opportunity? I want a paycheck too.

He doesn't have a pay check yet.

His contract is non-guaranteed, and thus [The Golden Calf of Bristol] has to make, and stay on the team.

I wish him well (though I'm not expecting much).

The Golden Calf of Bristol is one of the worst "passing" QB's in the HISTORY of the NFL.

So many people want him to be this specimen of an athlete and they're forcing it onto him. But nature is not fair. For the most part, nature create it's specimen of athletes as long leg, short torso, and fast twitch muscle. The Golden Calf of Bristol is none of that. Those who don't have those attributes find their niche in other positions like OL, quarterback. Tibow can't throw for squat. Now, where does that leave him? It annoys me every time I read somewhere another opportunity opens up for him.

Just think if Beli- Belic- (coachs name I can't seem to say) is able to really use him how much fun is it going to be messing with Jets fans and thier coach.

The Hoodie Monster is just the type of smug arrogant asshat to try to get something out of a player that the Jets dropped.  See Danny Woodhead.  I think ol' Bill is just trying to get Rex to pop a vessel.

It makes sense on several levels.

1. NE doesn't allow media circuses

2. McDaniels drafted Teboe

3. Great staff to learn from

goal line or short yardage packages.......

he could be the 3rd string QB or 53rd man on your roster and possibly score 8-10 TD's.

who wouldn't love that???

worth a shot if you don't already have that option on your roster.

PS.............This guy will not back up Brady. They will have a real QB for that.

All true/good points (though I question the TD total).

However, let's see if he makes the team first?? Lol

Seems like a favor to either McDaniel or Irving Mayer (reportedly good friends with Coach Hoodie), combined with Coach Hoodie arrogance, and proposed creativity?

He also doesn't have to answer questions about Gronk, the offense/no Wes Welker, and tweak the Jets while he's at it.

We'll see, if he makes the team first. And how they'll use him, if he does?

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
