Update: Aaron Hernandez Charged with Murder/ Cut by the Patriots

A clerk in the Attleboro District Court told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport on Friday morning that no arrest warrants have been issued in the homicide investigation of Odin Lloyd.

There were reports Friday that a warrant had been filed for New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez for a charge of obstruction of justice.

The clerk told Rapoport her court is the only one with whom the Massachusetts State Police would file a warrant in connection to the homicide.

The request would arrive at the desk of the clerk magistrate, and if he allows it, the police would then arrest the person for whom the warrant is issued.

Lloyd's body was found at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday. An autopsy confirmed his death was a homicide, authorities said. Lloyd's family told The Associated Press that Lloyd had connections to Hernandez, although they would not elaborate. Lloyd was a semi-pro football player in the Boston area, having played for the Boston Bandits.

The Patriots and the NFL both indicated that they do not anticipate publicly commenting on the matter at this time.

@Edwerderespn: I believe Aaron Hernandez went to the team facility yesterday for treatment on his shoulder. @bostonherald reported he was told to leave

A Hern got the GTFO treatment.

Pats mgmnt probably didn't want the cops showing up at team facilities looking for him...

I still think Tom Brady is involved and should be arrested.  If for nothing else for just being a douche.

No doubt. U can see this coming a mile away. I've watched The Wire enough to know what's coming next. #StreetCred

I think you guys have it confused. How/why would the state give deals to the trigger man and other one and not Hernandez. If anything Hernandez gives up the other two to take a deal so he can get off easier. All we know is that he was driving. He can dime out the other two and be fine.

It can happen that way as well. The DA will work on all of them seperate. The first one to fear the others are going to tell, will spill the beans first. I could see the other guys telling the authorities, it was Hernandez' idea. That he was the master mind behind the murder.

I think what he means is that if he testifies against the other two, the DA would give him a deal.

Yeah I just think that possibility is remote though, and beyond that I highly doubt he gets off scot-free.

There is a reason police are taking their time with this, and not to mention the fact of Hernandez allegedly attempting to destroy evidence. There is also the issue of him shooting some guy in the face back in February too.

Not to mention what all this is going to do to his career in the NFL.

Are there clauses in contracts about off the field behavior that essentially can void it? Like murder?

Anybody else find it suspicious that its ALWAYS a jogger that finds the body? I mean, that's weird right? Maybe we should start keeping our eyes on these folks that like to go running just for the fun of it.

That's why I stopped exercising years ago, got tired of finding all those dead bodies!

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
