Strongest Link

Recommended Posts

We have often discussed our weakest link and how they will prevent us from having a winning season. Let's talk about our strongest link and how they will lead us to glory.

For me the strongest link needs to be offensive line. Cam can accomplish great things if we give him a chance. Gross, Silatolu, and Kalil need to dominate. They all have the talent if they can stay healthy. Hangartner or one of the young guys needs to have a big year and Byron Bell needs to improve on his first two seasons. With our emphasis on the run game and traditional offense the offensive line is the key to our success.

Conventional wisdom says our strongest link is the DLine, however they will be relying heavily upon 2 rookies and a second year guy. Surely they will dominate the passing game but they may get out of position vs. the run.

The Patriots have had to lean on Maye’s arm more heavily than ideal, and adding a runner capable of producing efficient yardage would give the offense better balance.
    • There aren't 32 legitimate starting caliber QBs in the league. Just like when we were starting Bell and Chandler at OT, did that make them legit "starters"? I mean, technically I guess it did since they were indeed starting but they sure as hell weren't starting caliber players. If you have the 30th best starting QB in the league, you desperately need a starting QB and there's likely backups on other rosters better than your starter just like there were better backup OTs on other rosters than Bell and Chandler.
    • Name a QB as bad as Bryce who had their 5th picked up?  You certainly can name better ones who didn't have it picked up.
