Anyone ever stayed in a hostel before?

Yeah I don't know about a hostel in South Beach.

I would try to priceline a room or something.

You aren't going to get laid....especially there staying in a hostel. People drive ferrais around and the drinks are $20-30 or you need bottle service in the nicer clubs. I would suggest going somewhere else if your funds are limited

Yep.

Myrtle Beach comes to mind. North Myrtle or Aynor, specifically.

We just want to experience Miami because we've never been before... been to Myrtle and Panama City Beach plenty of times.

I think it's worth going just to be on the beach and see the South Beach neighborhood. That and the Amtrak ride is pretty cheap.

Any suggestions on where to eat, best clubs, etc?

Friend and I are planning to go down to Miami on Amtrak before classes start and we were looking at a hostel in South Beach. Anyone who's stayed in one in America, what should we expect? Is it easy to socialize and possibly get laid? Are the women even attractive?

in Australia, fug yeah! In the States I don't know, my best streak in Aus was 5 flags in 7 days :-

Clubs: Liv at the Fontainebleau, Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel, Nikki Beach. The bar at the Setai is really cool, but really expensive. Worth a visit though. Drinks are of course extremely pricey, so I'd recommend airplane bottles as there are liquor stores everywhere.

Food: Everything is expensive, so ask the hostel staff for some options on a budget.

They have rental bike kiosks up and down Ocean Drive in case you need to save some travel time, but don't want to get a cab.

If you find yourself hooking up with nowhere to go, remember you're at the beach...

i've been to Miami it is pretty awesome, but you are gonna drop sooooo much fuging money you have no idea. especially when you are inebriated.  It'll be worth the trip though you will have a blast. I honestly can't remember names of places because i was drunk 24/7 when i was there.

have a budget and try your best to stick to it.

Apparently the bar at the hostel we're staying at is inexpensive (e.g. $5 for Jack and coke) but I'm more of a beer guy anyway, so we'll probably just make runs to the store or wherever.

Is it mainly the food that's expensive? We don't really plan to eat at any fine restaurants. I know how expensive it is in places like Destin so I'm expecting it to be probably a little more than that.

Well hopefully my friend and I can stock up on cheap beer while we're in Charlotte before we leave on the train.

I'm guessing McDonald's doesn't really exist in South Beach.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
