btw, if anyone who actually got to listen to the interview could provide some context for some of those statements it would be great.

the two that i would like to hear more about is the shula/davidson (non)comparison and jeff byers (did he just mention him, or did he mention others?)

The whole interview is available to listen to here.

Other points from Smitty:

-He thinks he can be a pro bowl receiver this year

-Talks about making other players better

-Mentions young players who are now understanding the big picture...not just their role in a play

-Says Clausen is playing much better

-Said in reviewing one game that had Jeff Davidson as OC...was like watching paint dry.  LOL

-New philosophy...touchdown to check down....old philosophy...check down to touchdown

W-hile talking about O line...said...in the South...sometimes we need to realize...change is good

-Once you have accepted the jersey...........

-Sounds like he likes the O line...said they will gel...that is what practice/training camp is for...mentioned Byers....not a pro bowler but a guy you want on the line...hard working blue collar guy

-It is a physical game...if you do not like it....go to tennis

-Rookies who have impressed....Melvin White...but needs to move his feet, Barner...as mentioned before...says he has so much patience....says he has told him...run your game.  You never get a clean shot on him.

-Everyone checking their egos at the door when asked about Cam.

Tried to add to the OP posts.  Props to the OP.

Props to SteelSix for giving the link.

I do not listen to a lot of audio...prefer the print.  But listened to this and it was well worth my time.

Smitty sounds like a smart, mature guy.  Loved it when he said he thinks he is a pro bowl receiver.  He has always seemed to be a straight shooter.  He seems to like this team and the coaches.  Listening to this got me excited.

This is awesome!
