Trading Hardy is so logical its almost common sense.

CJ, Dwan, Star, Short and Alexander. Not to mention the best LB corps in the league (assuming they are healthy). While Hardy is good, we could easily still be a top 5 D without him. Trading Hardy now while he is still hot not only makes sense, but its practicially common sense. We could easily fetch a 1st and 2nd rounder atleast for him now. One of the youngest up and coming DEs in the league who posted double digit sacks last year? Teams would easily give up that plus maybe more for Hardy.

Just imagine what we could do with 4 picks in the first two rounds of the draft. We could draft a stud RT and RG, and a stud CB and safety and oh BTW still have enough cap space to sign a REAL WR in free agency for Cam. I can somewhat understand signing Hardy after the season if he posts big numbers, but signing him now would be foolish. Lets not forget he has been very quiet in pre season so far.

I know we all "love" Hardy, but lets be real. Our D would still be fine without him and if we completely keep ignoring giving Cam help and invest all this in the defense, you can rest assured he will jet when his contract is up. We have done absloutely nothing to help Cam since we drafted him. Mark my words, if we extend Hardy now, he wont post double digit sacks again this year.

imagine how many picks we could get if we tossed in Steve Smith and Cam Newton.

./end sarcasim

What im saying isnt illogical whatsoever. Our D line is stacked as is our LB corps. With Star and CJ commanding double teams and a interior pass rush with Dwan and Short, Alexander could thrive for a fraction of the cost of Hardy.

we don't have anything on alexander other than "flashes" and "premonitions" from fans who like to project such qualities onto specimens whether they embody it or not. get rid of hardy and you potentially fall back to a mediocre defensive line that's marginally effective in rushing the passer and exposes our secondary for what it is.

no thanks

I understand what you are saying but players like hardy are not easy to find. you dont just trade away your diamonds in the rough.

Dont be greedy. What I mean is, would you rather have a top 3 D by keeping Hardy but yet have Cam getting sacked every other play OR, trade Hardy and maybe have a top 6 or 7 D but a stout offensive oine and more well rounded offense? Im taking the latter

Alexander HAS looked good with the time he's been given.... but so did Stanley McClover or w/e for us (predator).

You dont need two stud DEs when you already have one stud DE and strong interior that commands double teams. A slightly above average DE could thrive along side our D line. You dont need to pay mega bucks to two DEs when you already have one stout DE and a strong interior

No one's going to offer a 1st, let alone a 1st AND 2nd rounder for a guy that's had one good season.

Best LB corps in the league is also a stretch. We don't know if Beason will come back to form, and Beason and Davis' health are big ifs. Keek is a monster, but the rest of the core is a question mark. Granted, a core of Klein, Keek, and Blackburn would still be a good group.

It makes a ton of sense if Gman isn't looking to extend Hardy. Get something while you can. But, does Hardy really have any value? I'm not sure we'll get anything more than a 3rd. I'd trade him around the deadline though. Let him help us win some games and up his value.

Easily a first rounder plus maybe more. Hes only 26 coming off a double digit sack year while he has gotten better each year he has been in the league. If he doesnt have good trade value then I dont know who would

    • I think the same thing, they don’t have any better options especially since Christiansen is out for the year
    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
